Shaley
Shaley walked down the cold concrete sidewalk in Athens, Percy was in trouble. She could feel it.
Well, it was his fault he had to go and save Athena. He should have known it was a trap. Like Ryan always said 'every man for himself'. Shaley bit her lip remembering her old master. The one who was killed by Gaea, the one she was madly in love with. Why did the Fates hate her?
Her whole life was a big joke. Her family was killed by Kronos' army. Her crush was killed by Gaea's. And now, after years of training, the gods don't even look at her. Instead they're looking at the seven. The people Shaley hated the most other than Gaea, the people Shaley had to help to get revenge on Gaea.
The Fates were cruel.
So were the gods.
Zeus was stupid, he shut Olympus. Hades was evil, he tried killing Shaley multiple times. Dionysus was drunk, he tried to forget everyone's names. Athena was snobby, she kept on saying Shaley was stupid. Ares was crazy, he kept on challenging Shaley to duels. Artemis was a traitor, she gave away Shaley's number one secret. Apollo was annoying, he kept saying haikus. Hera was mean, she kept on trying to kill Shaley. Demeter was coo-coo, she kept on making Shaley eat cereal. Hephaestus was mechanical, he didn't understand Shaley. And Hermes was Hermes, a messenger boy who talks to snakes.
Then there was Poseidon. Yes, she was perfectly capable of insulting her dad. He just didn't understand. Anything. When she was younger she needed a parent, yet, he was never there for her. Ever.
She got lost in thought.
"Shaley!" A voice yelled.
Shaley looked up to see the Argo II hovering over her.
"Come on!" The voice said, a rope was flung over the side. Shaley grabbed it and climbed up.
"What are you doing here?" Leo asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," Shaley said.
"I had a dream that Piper was here." Jason said.
"She is," Shaley said, "so is Annabeth."
"What about Percy?" Hazel asked.
"He's in trouble," Shaley answered, "but they're planning on killing Piper at sunset."
"How do you know?" Jason asked.
"I eavesdropped on them," Shaley said, "it wasn't hard, cyclops are loud."
"They have cyclops in there?!" Jason practically yelled.
"Yeah," Shaley said.
"We have to go find her," Hazel said.
"Come on then!" Leo said starting to climb up the mountain.
Shaley rolled her eyes and followed him.
Soon they were at the top, or at least Shaley, Jason, and Hazel were at the top. Leo was still halfway up the mountain.
"I cannot believe I'm sweating." Leo said when he finally reached the top.
"We've already wasted enough time," Shaley said. "We have to go in, now."
"Fine." Leo muttered walking into the cave.
Shaley pulled him back, "we can't just go in there!"
"Jason and Hazel did," Leo said.
Shaley looked around to see that Leo was right, Jason and Hazel were gone.
Shaley ran into the cave with Leo close behind her, as soon they got in Shaley saw multiple tunnels. Shaley groaned.
"Let's try this tunnel," Leo said.
"Why?" Shaley demanded.
"Because all the other tunnels have traps that will kill you." Leo said.
"That tunnel sounds pretty good."
They ran down the tunnel at full speed, at the end of the tunnel Shaley nearly ran into a metal door.
"What is this?" Shaley asked.
"A trap," Leo said, "if you open the door lasers will kill you."
"Like laser tag?"
"Yeah, with deadly lasers."
"Okay," Shaley said, "can you disable it or something?"
"I can try." Leo said which didn't make Shaley feel any better about the situation.
Leo unscrewed something and opened a little door in the wall that revealed a computer.
"It has a code," Leo said.
"I can take care of that." Shaley said stepping forward. She thought for a moment then typed in the word 'revenge'. The metal door swung open.
Leo gaped at her, "how'd you do that?"
"Lucky guess." Shaley said stepping through the doorway.
She was glad Leo didn't question her.
"So, are Piper and Annabeth down this tunnel?" Shaley asked as they ran down the tunnel.
"I can detect traps," Leo said, "not human beings." That's when he ran into Jason.
Shaley and Hazel were both laughing, Jason was rubbing his shoulder and Leo was bright red.
"How'd you guys get here?" Shaley asked.
"We went through one of the tunnels." Hazel said.
"Did I mention if you keep going down a tunnel you'll end up back where you started, and some of the tunnels lead to each other?" Leo asked.
Shaley glared at him, "no."
"Oh, I must of forgot." Leo said.
"How do you know that?" Hazel asked.
"All of the traps lead to each other." Leo said.
"Where should we go now?" Shaley asked.
"We could go down a tunnel we passed while coming here." Hazel suggested.
"Okay," Shaley said, "where was it?"
"Come on," Hazel said.
"There's the tunnel," Hazel said.
"Let's go," Jason said running into the tunnel.
Shaley followed him and soon they were at the end, they could go left or right. Shaley was about to turn to go into the left tunnel when Leo picked picked a scroll from the ground.
"What's that?" Hazel asked. Leo quickly read it and visibly paled.
"What is it?" Shaley asked looking over his shoulder. Leo hastily stuffed it in his pocket.
"Nothing," he muttered.
But Shaley knew it was something, just before he had put it in his pocket she saw that it was a guide to use the crystal to get to Calypso's Island.
