Leo
Leo was starting to doubt his sanity, while he and Hazel were fighting hellhounds while having a very distracted conversation about Frank, he saw Shaley and Annabeth fighting Dawn. Wait, Shaley? That's right the girl that had gotten captured by who-knows-what somehow managed to escape and make it to them in time to save their butts. That girl was good, if Leo hadn't met Calypso he might've asked Shaley out. Of course, Shaley would've blasted him with water and then eaten him for dinner but nothing could stop Leo McSizzle Hotness.
Leo, then, heard a loud crash, turned around, and saw... a giant hamburger. It was about twenty feet tall and forty feet wide. And that's when Leo started doubting his sanity. Of course the giant hamburger was alive, of course the giant hamburger was working for Eos, of course the giant hamburger had rotten mustard breath, and of course Leo passed out when the giant hamburger burped in his face.
When Leo saw his mother he knew that he was either sleeping and/or dead. If you could sleep when you were dead. Leo's mother still had the same features as she did when Leo was eight, just before she had died in the fire. Leo's fire. Leo reached out to touch her, maybe even hold her hand. He wasn't big on the emotional thing but this was his mother. Leo's hand passed straight through her and she smiled sadly.
"Mijo." She said, "it has been a while."
She talked like she was still alive, still in the workshop waiting for Leo to go home after completing his quest.
"I'm assuming you have met Hephaestus?" She asked.
"Not in person." Leo said.
"Yes, I believe that is because of Zeus." She said quietly. "He was always the one to think of crazy ideas."
"You're talking like you know him," Leo said.
"I did," his mother said. "The Olympians were very... fond of me and I got invited to a lot of parties on Olympus."
"I thought mortals weren't supposed to go to Olympus."
"That rule was made shortly after I died. The gods thought that I died because they were too close to me."
"That's stupid!"
"It's true." She said sadly, Leo reached out to grab her hand and this time he didn't pass through her.
"Mom, after the war I can come and get you from the Underworld." Leo said not believing a word he said. Him? In the Underworld? No way.
His mother looked at him in the eyes, "I appreciate the offer mijo, but I belong here."
"No you don't! I killed you! I should at least be able to bring you back!" Leo yelled.
"Good-bye mijo." Leo's mother said as she slowly faded away into the shadows.
Leo woke up with a start, he laid on the ground pondering his conversation with his mother when he remembered the giant hamburger. And heard Hazel scream. Leo looked up and saw that that the giant hamburger had sprouted arms and legs. And it had grabbed Hazel. Leo jumped up and ran over to it, his hands blazing. Leo plunged his fist through the bread of the hamburger and it caught on fire, making a smell nearly as bad as the giant hamburgers breath. Hazel was dropped onto the crack with a sickening crack.
Leo breathed through his mouth as he attack the giant hamburger with his hotness, and, of course, fire. Hazel started moaning from behind Leo. At least she was alive. For now. The giant hamburger seemed to be targeting her. Maybe it was anti-Pluto.
Leo threw a fireball at the hamburger and it's bread burst into flames, but it didn't stop. Great, it was a giant, demigod eating, flaming hamburger. It was at times like these when Leo McSizzle Hotness wanted his mama. The giant hamburger spit out a lettuce leaf, straight into his face. Leo fell to the ground under the weight of the surprisingly heavy lettuce leaf. Leo burned the lettuce leaf into cinders but the giant hamburger was already above him, about to attack.
Leo closed his eyes, bracing himself for the pain. But it didn't come. Leo opened his eyes to Hazel, pale faced, standing in front of him. And standing in front of Hazel was a barrier made out of jewels, a lot of jewels. The giant hamburger was now just a pile of gold dust, dead. For now.
Hazel gave a small gasp and fell to the ground, unconscious, again. The wall of jewels slowly made its way back into the ground. But the fight wasn't over yet. Dawn, Eos, was immortal and could not be easily defeated. Especially since she had the power to control time, it wasn't like what Percy had told Leo Kronos could do. But, making everything around her slow down or go faster by changing when dawn comes.
Shaley and Annabeth worked together like they were the perfect team. Fighting Eos in perfect sync. Leo stayed out of the way and got Hazel to safety. He tended to her wounds while he watched the fight between Eos and Shaley and Annabeth. Just as Leo thought Eos was doomed, she sprouted wings and flew up into a tree and stared down at Shaley and Annabeth mockingly. Which really wasn't fair because Jason was the only one who could fly and he was currently fighting hellhounds.
"Nice view from up here." Eos said looking at the sunset, it was getting late.
"Come down, coward!" Annabeth yelled up.
Eos laughed, "you know, not all gods are suicidal."
Shaley glared up at her.
Eos continued, "I suppose you're wondering why there was a giant hamburger attacking you, seeing as there was no giant hamburger in Greek mythology."
"Well, now we are." Shaley said.
"You see-and you won't find this legend in the books because the Greeks are so embarrassed about it-back in the old days my partner and I would roam the streets of Sparta, terrorizing commoners, stealing food, stuff like that-"
"You're partner was a giant hamburger?" Leo asked.
"Not always." Eos said. "One day my partner decided that we should destroy the king's crops. And, of course, I thought it was a magnificent plan. Little did we know that the king was a good friend of a goddess named Demeter. We both went out and started crushing wheat, corn, stuff like that. And then I saw my partner running toward me, I thought she had found something valuable, a coin or something. But she pushed me out of the fields. At first I was angry but then I saw her get wrapped up in a rope of grain. I hid behind a tree as I heard Demeter cursing her. Next thing I know, she's a giant hamburger."
"That's a very sad and devastating story." Annabeth said sarcastically.
"Yes, and since you killed my partner, I'll have to kill you!" Eos said, baring her teeth, which made her look very unattractive.
Eos was about to lunge when she froze in mid-spot and looked down. There was a dagger sticking through her chest. Eos whimpered as she attempted to claw the dagger out of her heart. But it was too late, she slowly started fading away into thin air. When she was gone,
Leo saw Shaley leaning over the branch Eos was on, holding a dagger.
Leo smiled as Shaley went over and picked up Hazel, who was stirring feebly. And walked over to where Jason and Piper were fighting hellhounds. As Shaley approached the hellhounds they all scattered, Shaley kept walking until she reached the Argo II. She somehow managed to get Hazel up the ladder and on board but soon everyone was settled on Leo's baby.
Leo got Festus in the air and all was well, until Leo felt like his stomach was eating itself.
