Zara looked up at Blake with a confused look cast upon her face.
Blake walked to his chair behind the desk, sat down, and pulled Zara onto his lap.
"My twin brother- Brent." Blake says a sad smile pulling at his lips. "Brent and I were always close, we were inseparable. One day I met this girl-" Blake was cut off by thr growl that rumbled out of Zara's throat.
"Sorry, I had a tickle in my throat." She lied smoothly.
"Anyway, her name was Crystal. We started dating when I was around 16, I fell in love with her, but I never noticed that Brent loved her, in fact she was his mate, but I never knew this.
"When Crystal found out she rejected him because she said she loved me." Blake paused to laugh- a bitter laugh.
"I never saw how pained my brother was, it hurt him just for me to talk about her. Eventually we drifted apart.
"We barely talked to each other, we lied to each other, we ignored each other. So one day I confronted him about it-"
-Flash back-
"Why don't we talk anymore." A young Blake asked, desperation and vulnerableness was clear in his eyes.
"Why don't we talk anymore?" A duplicate of him asked- presumably Brent. "We don't talk anymore because you stole the women of my dreams."
Blake looked at his brother with a raised eyebrow. "What are you talking about? Brent?"
"Crystal!" Brent shouts making his brother jump in surprise. "You took her from me!"
"What are you talking about?" Blake spluttered.
"She's my mate." Brent whispered a few tears falling from his eyes sadness leaked out from them. "But you took her from me!" His sadness soon turned to anger and hatred.
"B-But how?" Blake was dumbfounded.
"Oh I don't know. Maybe the Moon Goddess made us soulmates!" His brother screams rattled the walls.
"I-I'm so sorry." Blake murmured honestly, his own eyes filling with unshed tears. "I didn't know, i-if I knew I never would've even dated her."
Brent's eyes were filled with pure rage and hate, it was at that moment that Blake knows that all the love Brent ever had for him was thrown out the window. His brother wanted to kill him.
"You took her, my mate." Brent's voice was low and dangerous, he held something behind his back as he slowly stepped towards his brother.
"How could you be so shallow?" Brent questioned Blake, Brent's heart had been shattered by his own brother, he was broken.
Blake looked at the floor in shame. "Brent, I am so sorry, with everything in me I'm sorry! I didn't know she was you're mate! I never would've dated her if I knew she was you're mate! I am so sorry, brother." The last part Blake whispered, his heart crumbling with his brothers.
"Sorry?" Brent shouts, "Sorry is not enough!"
In a matter of seconds Brent was before Blake, a large silver dagger in his right hand, the door creaked open but neither of them noticed.
"You," His brother said bitterly waving the dagger in front of Blake, "took everything from me."
A soft gasp was heard across the room as a brown haired Crystal jumped in front of Blake and Brent shot the dagger forward plunging it inside of her chest.
