Chapter 008
After dinner at the cafetaria, Arthit decided to slept over to cheer Prem up. They talked about anything and everything. They discussed about the SOTUS intense situation between the seniors and juniors. Also talked about the newest movie of Gundam *anime ** that they both wanted to watch next week. Then chat about their upcoming mid semester exams.
"I'm glad you stay over tonight, Ai'Oon." Prem was making hot choholate drink for him and Arthit. " We haven't done this for ages. We were too busy with our own activities and only met at class or lunch."
" Yeah. I missed the old days," said Arthit reminiscing the past. "Remember when we were in middle school, I slept over at your place. Both of us were into Harry Potter *** that time, and we watched four DVD's of the movies in one night. We can't get up the next morning cause we only rest for 2 hours."
Prem chuckled. " We can barely opened our eyes, let alone go to school. So I lied to my Mom. I told her we had terrible stomach ache from something we ate last night. We can't go to school and need to rest at home." He hand over a cup of the choco drink to Arthit after sprinkle bit of Cinnamon powder at the top. He drank his own. It tasted wonderful.
"And what a rest we had. Both of us slept until four in the afternoon," Arthit remembered the past with a fond smile. He take a sip of the hot drink. "But I had a feeling your Mom knew we were lying ."
"She knew." said Prem confirming with a big grin. " Next day she said to me that its okay for us to skipping school once in a while. She done it too when she was little. By the way, my Mom missed you and she asked when will you come over to our house so she can cook your fav meal."
"I can come this Saturday." Prem's Mom was an awesome cook. Arthit did not need to think twice accepting the offer.
"I tell her tomorrow. She will be very happy. She love to cook for friends and family." Prem gathered the empty drink cups and spoons, washed them at the wastafel and dry them before putting them back at the storage cart.
Arthit went to the bathroom to washed his face and brushed his teeth, a routine before he go to bed. And so does Prem.
"Sometimes I wish, we are dating. We can become the perfect couple," Prem shut off the room light. A glimmering of moonlight from outside of the window cast a faint light into the room.
"What are you saying?" Arthit laying down on the left side of the bed, not bother by what Prem is talking. He adjusted the pillow and put his head on it.
"Think about it. We knew each other since we were seven. Our parents were friends for years. My Mom love you like her own son. And my Dad maybe can accept you as his son in law if we are together. He always said that if only he had a son as smart as you," Prem explained. He is a good student but cannot be compared to Arthit who was always ranked 1st.
Prem came out to his parents that he was gay three years ago. His Dad did not accepted his confession that well. They had a big fight and did not speak to each other for months. The relation with his Dad was better now although he doubted his Dad can give his blessing if he came home with a boyfriend and introducing him to his parents.
"So you want us to become a couple cause your parents love me? How convenient for you," said Arthit amused. " The big problem is we are not into each other"
Prem throw his body on the right side of the bed. He sighed loudly.
"If only I can love you more than a brother and you can do the same," he said wishful thinking. He leaned over so close to Arthit and stared deeply at him. Still nothing. "I don't had the desire to hold you even if we are this close. My pulse is steady and did not beat any faster"
Arthit playfully kicked him away.
"Ouch, you bruised my pride," he said in pretended sad voice.
"Please. As if you need me to boost your ego. You had so many admirers chasing you since we were in high school," said Prem truthfully.
Arthit good looking face with his calm demeanor and smart brain had made many seniors and juniors of the university falled for him. As his best friend, Prem had been asked so many times if Arthit already had a girlfriend or boyfriend. Beside from a crush he had on a girl in high school, Arthit never opened his heart for anyone. Which is a shame. Cause Prem know his friend had a big caring heart.
"Why are you still single, Ai' Oon?" he asked seriously. "And don't give me the lame excuse that you been busy studying. You can easily ace all the exams even without hours of studying."
" I want to find the right person, Prem," answered Arthit after thinking for a while. "I do not wanted to rush and just date anyone cause I am lonely or all my friends already dating. I want to find someone that I truly love and care. My soulmate." His big eyes staring at the ceiling.
Damn. Prem swore silently. If he was not immune to Arthit charm, he will jump on his friend now and kiss him senseless. Arthit was a hopeless romantic at heart.
"You'll find your soulmate someday," Prem yawned. His eyes felt heavy. "Maybe she is closer than you think. Good night, Ai' Oon."
Prem quickly fall a sleep. He was sleeping soundly. A first after his break up with P'Dan.
Meanwhile Arthit still awake. He was wandering about what Prem said. That his soulmate is somewhere around the corner. Maybe someone whose smile shine brightly. Who like non spicy food and ice coffee. He who dare to teased him when they were alone although Arthit had punished him again and again during the hazing.
Arthit snapped out from his daydream. What the heck? Why he kept thinking about 0062? He probably just too tired. That's it. He just need to sleep and stopped thinking about that person..
