(So you know how when you can't sleep, some people will talk to become tired, and it's called pillowtalk? No, not the song, anyways, I can't sleep so I'm just gonna write a little until I get sleepy and then I'll wrap it up. But yeah, a little bit of Travlyn. Enjoy.)
I stared at the piles of notes and pictures, helping me map out where I could find her.
This whole thing was a mess. It all started when I had to go and meet with my father. He had a bone to pick with me, and our family reunions were never a good thing.
Basically, I got him angry and then he decided to punish me by changing my whole life. The worst thing he did was what he did to Katelyn. He messed with her memories, gave her a fake life. He cursed her.
And after five months, I had finally found her.
She was a teacher at a school a good distance away. Her last name was wrong, but it was her.
I woke up that morning, excited. But of course, I woke up at around ten o'clock, so it meant I had to try and catch a talk with her between classes. Once I was bathed and dressed, I made my way to the school. I walked through the hallways of bored children and looked around. I then grew frustrated looking, and tapped the shoulder of a random student.
"Excuse me, could you tell me where Mrs. Goldenheart's classroom is?"
"Down there, take a left," the monotone voice of a teenage boy was like music to my ears from the directions given. I thanked the young boy and hurried down. There was a class in session, and I waited outside until the bell rang and all the students flooded out. I walked in and inhaled sharply. Her sky blue hair cascaded in long waves over one shoulder. I knocked on the open door, and she looked up and smiled.
"Hi, are you the father of one of my students?"
"Um...no, actually," I stepped in more with my hands in my pockets.
"Then how could I help you?" She smiled politely, and I felt my insides melt.
"I'm actually here to talk to you," smiled awkwardly, and sat on the desk right in front of her own desk.
"Oh? What about?"
"You know me."
"Um, excuse me?"
"You, Katelyn Lizzy Rizu, know me."
"My last name is no longer Rizu, sir, and I have no clue who you are."
"You do know me, I know you know me. You see my face, and you can't quite explain it, but there's something familiar about me."
"I don't know what you're talking about-"
"You're lying, Katelyn."
"How dare you call me by my first name?! You don't even know me!" She stood abruptly, her chair skidding behind her and hitting the wall behind her.
"But I do!" I chuckled, amused.
"What's your name?!"
"You tell me," I leaned closer to her, letting my tone fall into a whisper.
She may had been screaming about how she didn't know me, but I saw the fear shaking in her eyes. She knew me, but she didn't. I felt familiar to her.
"I suggest you leave."
"I know everything about you, you're in love with me, and you know me."
"In love with you?" She scoffed, "I'm married."
I clenched my teeth at the words, seething at the idea of someone else becoming close to her.
"Your name is Katelyn, your favourite colour is blue and you despise it when people ask for favours out of the blue. You love food, and you hate being hit on. Your middle name is Lizzy, spelt with a y not an i e."
"Those are basic facts that just seem to show that you're some creep."
"Answer me this, where were you five months ago?" I smirked.
"Easy, I was...." She trailed off, racking her brain for a memory that wasn't there, a fact that she couldn't find.
"You were laying in bed, next to me, and the last thing you said was "never leave me" before our lives changed forever."
"So maybe I spent a drunken night with you?" She pondered, "which is impossible."
"Admit it, I seem familiar to you, but you cannot put your finger on it. You've seen me somewhere. Maybe fantasies, broken down deja vu, maybe a dream?" I knew that it was a dream.
Her eyes widened ever so slightly as she realised her cover was blown, and I knew her little secret. She shook her head and rubbed her temple.
"You're insane, I'm going to call the cops."
"I'm not insane, who am I? You know the answer."
"You're a complete stranger!"
The bell rung and I let out a sigh as a few students started to enter.
"Goodbye, Katelyn."
I walked out, my shoulders slumped in defeat.
But then I heard it.
My little spark of hope.
"Goodbye, Travis."
