Chapter 5: Death Too Soon

A couple of years has past since then...
Yugi is now 10 while Atem was 11 years of age.

They made a separate room for Yugi for where he can translate letters and decipher things. He was surrounded by books which made him happy. His desk was located behind his bookshelves just so he could work without interruptions..  Under his desk was a little compartment so if somehow someone broke in, he could hide under there and sneakily attack the criminal.

Yugi sighed.

"So much with so little time"

Yugi stared at the massive pile of papers that Akhenaden gave Yugi an hour ago. Yugi managed to do about half of them but he only had another hour left to finish.

"I won't be able to get these done by then!" He panicked.

...

50 minutes have past, Yugi only has 3 things left.

"Probably not right but it's something.."

The last thing Yugi had to decipher was a note..
"Agh! It's so crinkled and the writing is faded! But this is a recent note, must've took awhile to get here.."

"Okay.. it's talking about the Pharaoh.." Yugi mumbled in thought. 

Akhenaden barged into Yugi's office which startled him. 

"Are you finished?" he asked.

"Uhm.. Kinda.. I just have to finish this letter" Yugi said hesitantly. 

Akhenaden grabbed the stack of papers then left but before he did, he said coldly, "You better get that one done before dinner then, or there will be consequences"

"Yes sir.."

Akhenaden slammed the door shut as hard as he could which made Yugi flinch.

Yugi was nearly done with the letter.

"It's talking about the Pharaoh. A warning?"

I am here, writing you this letter for a reason of mine. At exactly 8:16 PM, on Friday the 14th, November, the Pharaoh will fall ill and suffer tremendously! There will be no cure and after this, my plan will proceed accordingly!

You cannot stop me, for where war will rein over Egypt in 5 years exact, I promise you.

Yugi gasped."That's today!"
He jumped up from his desk then immediately ran for Shimon.

..

"Shimon! Shimon!!" Yugi cried.

The old man turned around, "What is it child?"

Yugi choked on his air for a moment. Taking a couple of deep breaths, he handed the man the letter.

"The Pharaoh is in danger, sir!"

Shimon's eyes widened as he read the note. "I must check on him then, please go to the dining room, the prince will be there shortly"
