A long time ago, in an undiscovered part of our galaxy, there was a small planet orbiting a sun. And orbiting the planet was a small moon. One day the sun and the moon fell in love, and from their love came twins. One beautiful silver girl and a bright golden boy. Their names were Luna and Ray.

Together, the sun and moon raised their children on the orbiting planet until they were old enough to talk. But one day, two alien objects landed on the planet and discovered the children.

"You're it!" shouted little Luna as she tapped her six-year-old brother on the shoulder and run for the trees.
"Oh no, I'm not!" Ray called after her as he chased her. Both children were ducking in and out of the tree line. Keeping just out of reach of each other, they ran further and further.

"Be careful little ones" Came the soft, sweet voice of their mother in their minds. "You do not wish to hurt yourselves." They could hear the smile in her voice as they slowed down and eventually stopped for a break. While the twins sat against a large tree, they exchanged their findings from earlier that day.

Suddenly, their father's voice boomed in their minds.
"Children, you must go to the caves. It is not safe for you now" Concern dripped off his voice yet it was still warm and kind.
"What's the matter, Daddy?" asked Luna, the smiles gone from both Luna's and Ray's face.
"There is something very strange on its way to your home. I do not know if it dangerous yet but I do not want to take that chance. Now go." Their mother answered. And with that, the children ran to the cave just over the hill.

They waited in silence for the mysterious object to pass. But the longer they waited, the more frightened they had become.

From a great distance away, the twins heard a low rumble that sent shivers through the planet's crust and the children's bodies. They huddled closer together out of fright. The noise got louder and louder until it was almost deafening. Then it stopped. Everything was quiet apart from the loud ringing in their ears.

"Little ones, whatever you do, do not leave that cave." Their mother warned. Outside, Ray could hear footsteps and shouting, but couldn't make out what they were saying.
"Get further into the cave or the strangers will see your glow" Ray was the first to stand, but his sister was too scared to move. He could see how much she was shaking as he bent down to help her up.

"Come on!" Ray whispered. He pulled his sister to his feet and took her hand. "This way. We'll be safer there." A few quick steps were all they could take before the air began to change from hot to cold rapidly and more shout came from the cave entrance.

"Stop right there!" someone shouted at the children. They stopped and slowly turned to face the entrance, still holding each other's hand.

Hey guys, just a heads up, the following chapters will be short because this is the first story I have ever written and published and I do apologise if I jump to different events.
Feel free to comment on what you think should happen next. I will try to add another chapter every week.
