Spock's Point of View - Guest Quarters, USS Enterprise NCC-1701

Spock felt his ears begin to burn and tried to push all the embarrassment from his mind. Luna wasn't supposed to know about it, nor anyone else for that matter. He wondered if they still shared the mental link, or if it was severed during Luna's operation.
"Does this answer your question, Spock? Do not try to push your emotions away, I will not tell anyone if you do not wish it." Luna smiled up at him and Spock relaxed a bit. He decided to act illogically and tried something he had never done willingly before.
"I must admit, I have felt a strange... connection to Jim. I am unaware of what such a connection means, but it compels me to be closer to him, to protect him." Spock looked away as he spoke. He felt Luna place her hand on his arm, but he didn't look at her.
"Tell him." Luna said out loud. Spock's head turned to face her, raising an eyebrow.
"If I were to tell him, it would go against everything I have worked years to achieve. It is not the Vulcan way."
"Well show him then. Surely there is nothing in Vulcan law that states you cannot express emotion to someone else though a mind-meld?"
Spock thought about this for a moment, then the turbolift doors slid open and Spock walked Luna back to her quarters in silence. When they arrived, Luna walked in and turned to face Spock who stood in the doorway.
"You are not staying?" The small smile fell from her face.
"I must return to the Bridge."
"Please do not leave me alone." Tears began to pick her eyes as the thought of being alone filled her mind. What if while she was here by herself, Ben had somehow found her and took her away again? Would she be able to withstand more of his torture?
"He will not harm you. You will return home with your brother and we will protect your home from any further harm. If you wish, I can call for Nurse Chapel to stay with you. I have heard that you two have got along quite well."
"If it is no trouble, Spock." Spock nodded and walked over to the communications panel. he pressed a white button and spoke into it. After a few minutes, Nurse Chapel arrived and agreed to keep Luna company.
Spock was making his way back to the bridge, lost in thought about how he was going to tell Kirk how he felt, when the ship's power failed and the emergency lights flicked on, coating everything in a red light. Spock ended up running the rest of the way.
