Ray's Point of View - Archer IV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been almost ten minutes since those strange men entered the caves when the sound of rocks crashing to the ground filled the air. Ray ran in after the strangers and searched the empty tunnels for their minds. He found four minds, two that were close, and two that felt to be a bit further. Yet one of them seemed familiar.
Ray made his way down one tunnel then the next. Following the same path that the strangers went. He could tell where they went because it was in their memories. Ray was a telepathic, same as his sister, Luna. However, they could not communicate with one another and he didn't know why.
Ray slowed when he heard voices. They weren't familiar but Ray suspected that they belonged to the strangers.
"Spock? Come in Spock." One of them almost yelled. Ray had found out that it was the voice of Captain James T. Kirk. Spock was his First Officer and best friend.
"Come on, Jim." The other was Doctor Leonard McCoy, but Kirk called him Bones. "Not even this could stop Spock. He'll be fine. If fact, he's probably already found the woman." McCoy's Western accent stopped Ray dead in his tracks. They were looking for a woman?
Luna. She had probably tried to communicate with someone for help. One of them was telepathic, too. Ray forced himself to keep going. He had turned the corner, Kirk and McCoy hadn't noticed him yet. His mind reached out to try and find the other two minds he felt earlier. When he found them, he learned that they were together and moving away from these two.
It took Ray a lot of courage to speak up.
"You friend is safe. He has found my sister and is now trying to find a way around. But they cannot communicate due to the metal in the rocks in front of you."
Both Kirk and McCoy spun to face Ray, stunned by Ray's outer glow and how he lit the small section of the tunnel. Kirk went to point his phaser at Ray, but McCoy stopped him.
"How do you know this?" McCoy asked.
"I'm telepathic. I can sense their minds, the same as Luna. If you like, I can communicate with your friend and help find a way back for them." Kirk and McCoy looked at each other.
"Do you know these caves?" Kirk looked at him sceptically. Ray didn't mind that.
"No, but I can send out a mental signal that will find a direct path to your friend's mind and he can follow it back." Ray had a large smile pasted on his face when he saw their impressed expressions
"If it's no trouble?" Kirk desperately wanted his friend to return safely, but he hid it well. Ray closed his eyes and focused for a few seconds on the one mind that was not familiar. He opened his eyes again and turned to see a faint trail of light that connected with his glow and travelled down the tunnel, disappearing around the corner.
"We should probably wait at the cave opening so they can get out of the cave, too." Ray turned back to Kirk and McCoy. They both nodded and Ray started off the way they had come. Kirk and McCoy hesitated before following.
 They walked in silence. None of them wanting to break it. They reached the entrance and Ray found a berry bush growing nearby. He walked over and pick a handful of fresh berries and gave half to Kirk and half to McCoy.
"They're here." Ray said after a few minutes. Kirk looked over to find a tall man in the same uniform as McCoy standing in the entrance, holding a girl with a silver glow. It was Spock.
Ray's glow brightened as he ran over and took his sister from Spock's arms. He cradled her and sat on the floor rocking back and forth. Tears of happiness flooded his eyes.
"I thought I'd never see you again..." He whispered into her long, silver hair. She was like him, but instead of a warm yellow glow, short blond hair and pure gold eyes and lips, she had a cool grey glow, long, straight, silver hair and pure silver eyes and lips.
"Do not be foolish, my dear brother. I was always here. I would never leave you." Luna replied in her monotone voice. Ray stopped rocking, leaning back to stare at her.
"What did they do to you? You used to be so happy."
"More than you can imagine." She looked away and Ray held her tightly, unaware of the small light particles surrounding his and Luna's body. Then they were gone.
