Chapter 2

Mike walked into Fredbear's Dinner to see Gold waving him towards the kitchen. Zak was laying on a made-shift bed and breathing heavily. Mike set his bag on the table next to him and took the washcloth off Zak's forehead. Feeling Zak's forehead first and felt the burning sensation that Mike raised his eyebrow as he took out a thermometer and placed it in Zak's mouth and as he picked him up into his lap. The beeping of the thermometer made Mike gasp as the fahrenheit was way over normal temperature. Sighing Mike looked up at Gold, "He needs to go to a hospital cause I can't do anything." Gold panicked and started to ramble, "He can't what if the secret scientist see the reports in the government that Zak's at the hospital and we're not there to protect him." Mike chuckled before shaking his head.

"Don't worry I got it all under control since I still have my adoptive son's ID before he was kidnapped and killed and no one could tell who he was so I'll use it and he'll be safe. I promise you Gold now help me get him into my car and then I can take him to the hospital" Mike said with a gentle smile. Gold nodded as he picked up Zak and carried him outside to a blue Chevy out front. Mike opened the passenger door as Gold set Zak in. Zak opened his eyes and looked over at Gold and Mike, "What's going on you guys?" Mike smiled as Gold looked like he was going to cry, "Don't worry Zak it's me Mike and Gold called me saying you're sick so I'm taking you to get seen and you're under my care till you can get better, alright?" Zak looked at Gold before nodding and closing his eyes once more.

Bonbon came running out of the Dinner holding Zak's sword and two guns in one hand. "Wait don't forget about these Mikey you're gunna need them" Bonbon yelled as he handed Mike the guns and smiled at Zak before placing Zak's sword in the backseat. "Why do I need these for?" Mike asked as he scanned them. "We have discovered these things called shadows and they're after Zak and with us no being able to move unless it calls for it Zak needs protection till he feels better." Mike nodded before putting them in him trunk and getting into the drivers seat. Mike waved good bye before taking off out of the parking lot of the old dinner and drove his way down to the nearest hospital.

Mike sighed as he pulled up to the hospital and parked his blue Chevy to the closest entrance as a nurse came out for her break. She took out a cig and started smoking. Another nurse joined the first but started yelling at the first. Mike got out of the car and went to the passenger seat to get Zak and brought him up to the two nurses saying, "Um....Hello my adoptive son came down with a high fever and I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?" The second nurse looked at Mike holding Zak in a protective manner as she gasped and ushered Mike inside forgetting all about the first nurse. She brought them into what looks like a doctors office and started taking Zak's temperature and listening to his heart beats. She relaxed as his breathing was somewhat normal as with the fever he was panting a little.

"He's fine but the high fever is whats really the matter so I suggest keeping the room to 69ºF till his fever starts to lower and make sure he has plenty of water and make sure he eats his three meals a day. Put a wet wash cloth with mid-temperature water and place it on his head and he should be good. Since he's a minor I would need you name to put into the file" She stated as she started typing on the computer in the room. Mike relaxed as he calmly answered the nurse, "Mike, Mike Schmidt." She typed his name and gave him sheet of paper on what to do for Zak as she asked, "Would you like some help with bringing him back out to your vehicle sir?" Mike thought about before smiling, "Thank you I just need someone to open the passenger seat door so I can set him in." Mike picked up Zak before walking out of the hospital with the nurse trailing behind.

Coming upon his blue Chevy the nurse opened the door for him as Mike set Zak down inside and buckling him in and saying 'Thank you' to the nurse. He got in the drivers seat and took his time going back to his house. Pulling up to his house he turned off the Chevy and walked up to his door and unlocked it leaving the door wide open. Going back to his Blue Chevy he picked up Zak and started walking towards his house once more. Walking into the house he laid Zak out on the couch and watched as Zak stirred before becoming still once more.
