Your Friend, The Bear

You played with me when you were young,

We danced and laughed and had our fun,

More than a toy, I was to you,

Your friend, the playful bear

There were no bounds upon our love,

Though dad was sad and mom above,

In fact we were our strongest then,

Your friend, the loving bear

You went to school, you made new friends,

Our time, I feared, was at an end,

But still you kept and played with me,

Your friend, the grateful bear

You cried the day your mother left,

And to your pain your friends were deaf,

But I was here to comfort you,

Your friend, the faithful bear

You played with me when you were young,

But now were done, our song’s been sung,

There’s little more for me to say,

Your friend, the lonely bear

When times are tough and life turns rough,

You’re feeling sad, you’ve had enough,

Do not be scared to turn to me,

Your friend, the little bear

Please don’t forget your friend, the bear.
