Chapter 8
A few days later...
Riker POV
I was still at the hotel with Rydel, but she was spending a lot of time at home so she didn't seem so suspicious. I was a lot better, but I still didn't have anywhere else to go.
And I was bored right now. Rydel wasn't going to be back here until late because they were having a band rehearsal without me...
I pulled on some clean clothes, and decided to go downstairs. It was about 8:00 at night, and Rydel wasn't supposed to be back until about 11:30. So I was hoping to find something fun to do...
I went downstairs, and found out that the hotel had a bar. And lucky for me, I had my ID on me.
The bar was almost empty. But... It was early, so... That's probably why.
I took a seat at the counter, and ordered a couple of shots.
"What are you doing here all alone on a Friday night?" The bartender asked.
"Uh... I don't know... I got kicked out of my house, so I've been staying here."
"Wow..."
He got me my shots, and I drank one.
"So do you have a plan of what you're going to do?" The guy asked.
"No... My sister keeps booking me a room here so I have a place to stay. And usually she's here with me to keep me company and stuff, but she was busy tonight..."
"Ahhh... So you don't have any money?"
"No, not really. I mean, my sister gave me her debit card so I could buy a few things if I needed to, but it's not like I have thousands of dollars. That's why my sister keeps paying for my room here."
"You know what you should do?"
"What?"
"You should get a job here. They're actually looking to hire a waiter at the restaurant here. And one of the waiters here actually worked out this deal where they sort of work in exchange for a room here. Maybe you could do that until you figure out your life."
"That's sounds like a good idea..."
I drank another shot, and asked the guy to get me the papers to fill out for getting the job here. And I also ordered a few more drinks...
Later...
Rydel POV
I was beginning to worry. I was in mine and Riker's hotel room, and he wasn't here. And it was almost midnight!
All of a sudden, the door flew open, and Riker stumbled through the door.
"Riker?"
"I'm home!" He slurred.
"Ugh, Riker, you're drunk!"
"Maybe!" He said, dragging the word out.
I sighed.
"Riker, why did you do that!?"
He flopped down on the bed next to me, and pushed his finger against my lips.
"Shhh... I have a secret," he said, giggling.
I pushed his hand away from my face.
"What's your secret, Riker?"
"If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret anymore!"
I sighed again.
"Riker, come on. Tell me. What did you do!?"
