Chapter 10
The next day...
Riker POV
I was extremely frustrated with... pretty much my whole life.
Rydel went home, and I didn't try to stop her. I was mad with the whole situation.
My mind wasn't really on finding my real father anymore. My mind was more on trying to keep this job to prove that I can live somewhere else besides home, and still be fine.
So here I was, running around a restaurant, sweating to death instead of standing still in the basement, rehearsing R5 songs. Yeah, so life hates me...
Chris, the bartender, kept slipping me drinks. But they seemed to make me feel better, and not so stressed.
I kept running around, taking orders and stuff. It was basically the same. I'd take orders, get what they want, and then clean up and do the same for the next people.
Except one table was different. There was a girl and a guy. They appeared to be on a date, but whoever the guy was, was treating the girl horribly. He kept criticizing everything, like what she ordered, her dress, her hair...
And it was bothering me a lot because that's not how you should treat your girlfriend!
I brought them their food, and the guy started asking the girl how she ate stuff like this. She'd ordered some seafood dish. He kept saying it looked gross, and I was becoming super annoyed.
I went back to their table a little later to check on them, and the guy was gone. I went over there anyway...
"Hey. How's the food?"
"It's amazing."
"Do you need anything?"
"Nope."
"Um... I just had a quick question... Is the guy who was sitting here your boyfriend?"
"Yeah."
"Ok um... Why do you let him treat you like that?"
"I don't know..."
"That's seriously no way to treat a girl. And it's sort of bothering me to watch."
"It's fine. Really."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
Her boyfriend came back.
"Are you flirting with my girlfriend?"
"What!? No, no, no! I was asking her how the food was, and if she needed anything."
"Yeah, well you'd better not even think about flirting with her."
The girl looked slightly scared. I just walked away, not wanting to get in a fight with the guy. But I was still pretty mad about everything.
A little while later, I brought the check to them.
"Here. You can pay," the guy said, handing it to his girlfriend.
I walked over and grabbed some half full glasses from an empty table. I walked over to the guy, and dumped them on his head.
"Oops... I am so sorry," I said, pretending it was an accident.
"I want to speak with your manager!"
I sighed. One dumb mistake can ruin anything. Like getting kicked out of the house. Am I going to lose my job now too?
I walked into the back, and got my manager. I told him I tripped, and accidentally spilt drinks on the guy. And that he wanted to talk to him.
I walked back out. The guy went to talk to my manager. I walked over to the girl sitting alone.
