Chapter 19
Later...
Riker POV
The doorbell rang. I ran to answer it.
"Hey," Kenzie said.
"Hey."
"Ready for our date?"
"Yeah."
She took my hand, and pulled me over to her car. I got in, and she started driving.
"Are you alright? You look nervous," Kenzie said, glancing over at me.
"I don't know. I guess I'm a little nervous."
"Why?"
"This is my do over. And I really don't want to screw it up. And I also don't want to give in to the whole alcohol temptation."
"Don't worry. I already know you're not going to screw up. And I'm here to make sure you don't have any alcohol."
"Thanks..."
We got to the restaurant. I followed Kenzie inside, and we got seated.
Later...
Riker POV
I was super nervous, and I kept doing stupid things. I'd knocked my fork on the floor twice, almost spilt my drink, and I'd gotten spaghetti sauce on my shirt.
I was honestly feeling pretty miserable. I was screwing up the date. Kenzie said it was ok, but I wasn't sure she meant it.
We finished our dinner, and Kenzie paid for it. I tried to protest, but she wouldn't let me pay.
We drove back to my house in silence. Kenzie parked in my driveway.
"I screwed up. Just say it!" I shouted, not being able to take it anymore.
"What?"
"I screwed up the date! I screwed up my life! And I screwed up our relationship!"
"Riker, what are you talking about?"
"I did so many dumb things. And if you don't want to be my girlfriend anymore, I get it. But just say it already. I messed up my second chance..."
"Riker, no you didn't. It's ok. I don't care if you have spaghetti sauce on your shirt... And your face. I don't care about any of the mistakes you made. I care about you. And you just need a little more confidence. You put your life back together. And you're doing much better now. It's fine. I still love you."
"Wait, really?"
"Yeah. I mean, if I can't handle you at your lowest, I don't deserve you at your best."
I hugged Kenzie tightly, and sighed.
"You ok?" Kenzie asked.
"Yeah. Thanks. I needed to hear all that..."
She smiled at me.
"So uh... We're still a couple?"
"Yeah."
She took my hand in hers, and intertwined our fingers.
"Thanks, Kenzie. For everything. I really really appreciate it."
She pulled me closer, and we kissed.
"I'll text you, ok?" Kenzie asked.
"Yeah. Thanks for tonight, by the way."
"You're welcome."
"Night."
"Night, Riker."
I kissed her again, and got out of the car. I walked back inside, feeling tired, but happy.
"Hey, Rik. How was your date?" Rydel asked, walking down the stairs.
"It was great. Hey. Um... I need to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"Thanks for taking care of me while everything was going on. Seriously. Thank you."
"Aw, Rik."
She hugged me tightly.
"You've got spaghetti sauce on your face."
"Yeah uh... I made a few minor mistakes tonight. It was just because of my nerves."
Rydel walked with me upstairs. I changed, and got myself all cleaned up again. I finally crawled into bed, feeling pretty satisfied with my life. I've got my girlfriend, my band, my family, and most importantly, my dad.
I got out of bed again, and walked down the hall to my parents' room. Both my parents were still awake, watching tv in bed.
I walked over to my dad's side of the bed.
"Hey. How was your date?" Dad asked.
"Good."
"That's good. So what's up? Are you ok?"
I bent down, and hugged my dad tightly.
"What's this for?" He asked, laughing slightly.
"For being my dad. My real dad."
Mom was 'awing' next to us.
"Night," I said, kissing him quickly.
"Goodnight, Riker."
I walked back to my bedroom, and got back in bed. Ok. Now I'm happy with my life.
The end.

The first one is about a girl who transfers to Dalton and falls for Jeff Sterling, which is Riker's character from Glee. And the second one is about a girl Riker falls for.
