The crowd in this arena is insane.  A few minutes earlier, my mom, Lou, and I had walked out into the venue area and made our way to our designated spot.  We were stood by the B-Stage and I couldn’t help but do a little excited jig.  Not like an Irish jig, I’m not Niall.

“Mom, we’re going to see One Direction!” I said, grabbing onto her arm.  Lou laughed next to me.

“Yeah, and I saw them a couple hours ago in my kitchen,” she said, trying to act as if she wasn’t excited.  She wasn’t as big of a fan as me, obviously, but I think she was looking forward to seeing the band that made me so happy about life.

We missed the boys of 5 Seconds of Summer but that was just because I was helping my mom clean up all the dishes.  I know that I’ll have plenty of opportunities to see them so I wasn’t incredibly heartbroken about it.

Suddenly the lights in the arena went out and the place erupted in screams.  I have never heard anything quite like it.  Their little intro video started to play and I could feel the anticipation build inside me.  This was it, they were about to come out.  The lights on the stage began to light up and the screens that concealed the boys started to rise.  As they rose, the screams got louder and louder.

I could see the shadows of the 5 boys and my eyes immediately found Harry.  I’d recognize those curls anywhere even if it was just a shadow.  They walked out and the lights hit them.  They waved around as Liam began to sing and I started to sing along with them.  I probably looked more like a fan than a part of their crew at that moment but I didn’t care.  They were my favorite band and if I want to dance and sing along then I would.

I was amazed by their stage presence as the concert went on.  They all moved around on the stage, interacting with fans, and seemed to just feel the music in their bodies.  At one point my mom leaned over to me and Lou and said she was impressed by how well they are live.  I tried to make sure I paid attention to each boy but my eyes seemed to always find Harry.  He just looked like he belonged up there, like he was meant to entertain people.  His body moved to each beat and waved to lucky fans in the audience.

I looked around at the audience and smiled at the looks on all the girls’ faces.  They loved this band like I did and were so happy that they were just in the same room as the 5 of them.

The boys eventually made their way to the B-Stage and I was so close to them.  Harry walked around while Louis and Niall were answering a Twitter question and looked in my direction.  A smile appeared on his face and he waved at me.  I shyly waved back before he returned to his band mates to answer another question.  During one of the questions, Harry and Niall were talking, not paying attention and Louis called them out.  Harry looked like an innocent little puppy and him and Niall kept chuckling about something.

When the concert ended, the three of us headed backstage before the audience could gather their emotions enough to leave their seats.  Lou led the way for us and the moment we got back into the hallways, I could hear the boys’ voices.  They were laughing and the sound of it made me smile.  Harry’s voice stood out to me as we walked into their dressing room.  Niall, Louis, and Liam were standing up and messing with Paul who was looking less than amused while Harry, Zayn, and Josh, their drummer, sat on one of the couches laughing at them.  They turned towards the door at the sound of us entering and began to yell greetings at us.  How they still had energy after the performance they just gave baffled me.  Sweat sprinkled their foreheads and I found it oddly attractive.  Especially on Harry.
