I walked back to my room and opened the door. I closed it then leaned my back against it. What the holy fuck just happened? My thoughts were going at 100 mph and I reached down with one arm and wrapped it around myself. The butterflies were flying faster than ever before.
“Lydia?” my mom said. I looked up and she was staring at me. “How was it?”
Absolutely fucking amazing, fantastic, and life-changing.
“It was okay,” I said. She smiled at me and I walked over and sat next to her on her bed.
“Did you hear about the BBQ at Niall’s parents’ house?” she asked me.
“Yeah, Niall told us earlier. Did Paul let you know?”
She nodded and we got up to get ourselves ready. A couple hours later, I was putting on the final touches of my appearance. I opted for a pair of denim shorts (not too short, I’m not a whore), my Converse, and a simple black flowy tank top. The straps were razor backed so I felt like it added some cuteness to it. My hair had a little extra curl to it thanks to my curling iron and my make-up was actually cooperating today.
“Ready to go?” my mom said. I turned to her and smiled. She was wearing a pair of well-fitting jeans and a cute green shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
“You look good Mom,” I said and she blushed a bit. We grabbed our bags and walked out the door. I quickly dialed Lou’s number as we walked down the hall.
“Hello?”
“Hey Lou. Are you ready?”
“Yeah, I’m just putting Lux’s shoes on her. I’ll meet you down in the lobby.”
A couple minutes later, Lou, Lux, and Tom were walking up to us.
“Dia!” Lux shouted, letting go of Tom’s hand and running up to me. I crouched down and opened my arms for her. She threw her arms around me and I picked her up, unable to contain the smile on my face.
“Hey guys. Wow, you two look so good,” Lou said and my mom kindly thanked her. I said hi to Tom and the five of us walked out to the cars that were waiting for us. We got in and headed off. I sat next to Lux while Tom sat on the other side of her. Lou and my mom were behind us.
“I think Paul and the boys left a couple minutes before us,” I heard Lou said. My body froze at the mention of the boys. Boys…Harry…oh jeez. I had briefly, barely briefly, forgot where we were going and who was going to be there. How were we going to act around each other? Was Harry going to act as if nothing from today had happened or was he going to act more affectionate?
“I’m just thankful I get to take a little break from cooking today,” my mom said.
About half an hour later, our car turned off one of the main roads and ahead of us, there was a house with plenty of cars in the driveway. Our driver came by to open the door and Tom got out first.
“Okay Lux, come here love,” he said and she scooted over to her father. We all got out and proceeded into the house. The front door was open and I could hear a bunch of noise coming from inside. I reached over to my mom and linked my arm with hers. She smiled down at me.
