I got home, frustrated, annoyed, scared, and giddy all at once. I didn't see Zeus for the rest of the day, and when I told Alex, he didn't believe me. I got slightly annoyed with his reaction.

I drop my bag on the chair, and stroke my tabby cat's fur. I hear arguing in the kitchen, so I walk in. My mom is arguing with a man.

"Mom?" I ask walking in. He turns around.

"You."  growl. A light bulb explodes.

"Oh for heavens sake Vera, that's the hundredth time you've exploded a light bulb!" My mom yells.

"What? You always told me they burn out!" I yelp.

"Crap." She whispers under her breath.

"Vera, come here." Says Zeus.

"No. Who are you, and why are you here!" I shout. Another bulb explodes and the lights flicker.

"You met me this morning, you should know." He saysbluntly.

"Go drown in the ocean!" I yell at him.

"See, I'm a God, I cant really drown." He says rolling his eyes as if the answer is obvious.

"You met her?" My mom asks.

"Yes, at the coast." He says.

"Vera, you have to leave." My mom says.

"Why, because this random asshole told you!?" I say.

"No, Vera. I'm really sorry, but he really is your father. I should have told you earlier."

"You kept me in the dark? Just like that?" I ask.

"Vera, I'm sorry-" My mom is interrupted. The chandelier shakes. A giant gust of wind picks up.

"Anemoi." Whispers Zeus.

"You have to leave!" He screams.

"What are anemoi?" I scream.

"Wind spirits. Go! They want you, not me. Run, go anywhere you wish, go to Alex's house, we will cause a distraction, me and your mother will catch up with you later, take this bag, it has all you may need in it." He shouts passing me a back pack.

"Go dear, we'll find you." Says my mom, her hair whipping around her like snakes. I glare at Zeus, and run out the door. Lightning crashes on my house, a small tornado forms. I run to Alex's as fast as my legs can carry me. I'm cut short, because Alex is already running in my direction.

"You too?" He asks.

"No shit Sherlock, you didn't believe me. Follow me." I tell him. I run towards the forest.

"Vera, what are you doing?" He asks. I climb onto a persons fence, and walk across it like a squirrel.

"Come on, we need to get to the forest." I say.

Once we are deep in the forest, we stop to catch some air.

"What happened with you?" I say gasping for air.

"I came home, Hades was there. Vera,  I knew my father was Hades sence I was fourteen, when my mom told me. I couldn't tell you, your mom wouldn't let me. She thought you'd be safe in Saint Anthony's, but they found us."

"Who is they, Alex! Who is Hades. What is going on?" I say.

"Hera, the Greek goddess of Marriage, the Queen of the gods. Zeus wasn't supposed to have any more children after his agreement. But he had you. Hera found out just a few days ago. She wants you dead. Hades isn't supposed to either. Me and you were both born on the same day. We weren't supposed to. We are illegal in the world of the gods. Rumor has it, Poseidon had a kid too, on the same day we were born. Poseidon, Zeus and Hades are the big three gods. They are the most powerful, and most dangerous. Their kids are like the most powerful people. That's why Hera, and all the other god's and goddess' want us dead, we are powerful, and they believe we are going to do something  very bad." He says.

"This is too much to take in." I say. A branch cracks, and I turn around. Three women step out of the trees. Three women, with snakes for hair, scales for skin, and eyes that turn people to stone.

Gorgons.

Stheno, Euryale, and the worst of them all, Medusa.
