As we walked through the forest, the wind rustled in the tree's murmuring jokes, and silly lies.

"Shut up you idiots." I say to the wind.

"Don't get angry at the winds, we owe alot to Aeolus, the wind god. He spared us or lives, barley, but he did." Said Jason.

"I know what happened you know. When I was dead, I saw visions of what was happening, I saw all of you, on the Argo, camp Jupiter, all of it." I say quietly.

"Demi gods are known for seeing visions all the time during sleep, but you weren't necessarily asleep." Said Thalia concerned.

Nico was slinking in the shadows, keeping guard of monsters, or anything that could possibly be in disguise.  I decided to leave the other two Zeus born children and talk to him.

"Hey, how do you do that, blend with the shadow?" I ask.

"It's a Hades thing." He says, his eyes are the only thing that glisten in the darkness of the pines, it reminds me of Alex. Alex. I miss him, I only had a day with him after I woke up. Is that even correct? Did I wake up, or did I resurrect, or what? What am I?

"Vera?"

"Sorry, zoned out, yes?" I say I look up and running into a tree.

"Never mind." He says, a smile playing on his lips.

I rub my shoulder, and jog to catch up with his long legged pace.

"I like your ring by the way, I would have told you the day we met, but we were in a tight situation." I said.

He smirks bringing his hand up and examining it. He twirls it around with his thumb, it loosely rotates.

"Thanks." He says.

"No problem shadow boy." I say.

"Watch it Euryale." He says. I let out a snort.

"You won't be calling me that when I learn how to take off the retched curse." I say.

"Perhaps." He says blankly. What a weird guy. He's awesome.

"I wish I could go home, I miss sitting at the coast."

"Why? I'd hate it. Its high off ground, close to the sky, and near water."

"I don't like water either, but the wind for me is nice." I say.

"I prefer the closest route to the ground." Says Nico laughing.

"It's annoying how we don't feel comfortable in other God's domain, especially if your a kid of the big three. If you're like an Aphrodite, or Hephaestus, its not that difficult."

"Oh, wait till you mean Leo, the guy is OK with almost anything. I think he hides it though. Great guy. No words, he's underestimated." Says Nico.

"I saw." I say nodding. Leo looked like the person I could be friend, but would he want to be a friend with a gorgon? Sigh.

Something cracked in a bush near by, both of us whip our heads around to see what it was. A crow flutters out, squawking. It lands on my shoulder. I pet it head smiling.

"Alex." I say.

"He can control crows?" Said Nico, his voice slightly sharp. Was that envy?

'Yeah, he saved us when we running away from home, he got a whole flock to attack the gorgons." I said, the crow rubbing its beak against my cheek.

"Pretty cool." He said. The crow lifts off and fly's away, which makes me sad. It was the only connection I had with Alex, and its gone again.

"I wonder what the prophecy is." I say.

"Me too, and I wonder who will-"

"GUYS!" Thalia and Jason call. We jog over to where they are standing.

"There seems to be a problem, we'll need your help Nico." Says Thalia. Our path stops, with a cliff.

"What happened here it looks like its been..."

"Trampled." We all said at the same time. The valley looked like a tornado ran by. The tree's were up rooted, branches broken, they look like they had a disease, brown all over with black sap oozing out. The small river was not a nice curve, but giant pits were clawed from the ground, the water brown. I looked closer and saw something that made my stomach churn. A giant foot print.

"Guys, that's a pretty big foot print." I said.

"It wasn't a cyclopes, they're too small compared to that." Said Jason.

See, the foot print wasn't really a foot print, but more like a paw/claw.

"I don't want to jump to conclusions guys, but that's definitely a dragon print. A Lernaean Hydra, to be precise." Said Nico.
