I almost dropped the bow.
"What?" I choked.
"Be careful with that, Artemis won't be too happy if something bad happens." Says Anabeth.
"Yeah, don't worry." I say. I strap it around me.

Fun day, I need to get to the cabin quick. Its already 8: 45. I quickly get there, change into a camp t shirt, and just put on a warm jacket and run out with my bow. I completely avoided the other two beds that were made and stacked with bags. The Zeus cabin is the largest and fanciest. I ran to the archery house, a marble building surrounded by pine trees. I get inside, and obviously not everyone is here yet. I hang my coat up, and sit against a wall. Running my fingers along the bow. A guy walks in, long legs, light brown hair, and had a glowing aura, I was guessing he's an Apollo guy.
"Morning all, prep your bows, and walk up to a chosen target, pair up with someone if there isn't any free targets left. You there, come here." He said pointing at me.
"You new?" He asks.
"Yeah." I respond.
"Right, shoot that target over there, then the next one beside then that one up there. You have ten seconds to complete the sequence. I pull out my bow, and shoot them all perfectly center.
"Good repeat the sequence twice, in ten seconds." I do.
"Three times?" He says smirking.
I just made it with 9.7 seconds.
"Well done, where did you learn this?"
"I didn't, I just can." I tell him.
"Well done. Seraphine! Come here please." Calls the instructor. A girl maybe sixteen walks over.
"This girl has shown good archer quality. Take her out to the forest for practice. You'll need your coat." He says smiling. I don't return a smile. We walk out of the temple.
"You're that girl everyone talks about, the one who got turned to stone, but lived."
"Yeah, sure." I say.
"Anthony doesn't normally send out students to the forest."
"Why?"
"You die if you can't defend yourself." She says.
"Um, what is exactly in the forest."
"Lots of things." She says. She leads me in and doesn't enter.
"You have exactly an hour now, destroy all that wants to kill you. If they tempt you, decline. Good luck, don't die.." She says.
"Thanks." I say, turning my back to her and walking in. I pull out an arrow and put it in place. I listen carefully to any snap of a branch. I get to what I consider is the center of the forest. A boy sits on the stump, dressed in black, alot like Alex, black crazy hair sticking up in tuffs, deep dark eyes, and wearing an aviary jacket. He looks up and sees me.
"Come out and meet your death." He says, rubbing his thumb and middle finger together. I come out, but dont point my arrow at him, yet.
"Am I supposed to kill you?" I say harshly.
"A girl? They never send out girls here." He says.
"Surprise." I say sarcastically. He laughs, and snaps his finger. The sky goes dark, and the snow goes brown. Skeletons appear from the ground. How am I supposed to kill skeletons with bows and arrows? Well lets try shall we.
I let one loose, it hits the skeleton in the rib, but it deflects. I back away, but an invisible shield wont let me go past the boundary. That's when I notice the fire the boy is sitting at. I dodge the skeletons reaching for me, swinging with their swords. I put one of my arrows in the fire, and instead of glowing red or orange, it glows white or more silvery like the moon. I aimed it at a skeleton, and it exploded along with the skeleton.
Bow of the Moon.
So when you set it on fire, it glows like the moon, exploding the enemies. Cool! I killed off most, and then realized I ran out of arrows, shit! I took out the dagger that I kept strapped to my forearm. I pounced on the last skeleton, parrying his sword with my tiny dagger. I pushing against a giant tree trunk, and slammed my body against it, breaking all of its bones. I was exhausted, and turned around. The boy jumped off the stump.
"Impressive, but you still need to defeat me." He pulls out his black sword, much larger than my dagger. I'm screwed.
