I woke up with my hair rustling in the wind, and soft feathers below me. I opened my eyes, hazy and my muscles hurt, I looked around. I was in clouds. What?
"Oh you're up, good!" Said Thalia behind me. I was so confused. I rubbed my eyes, and opened them again, and I was still in clouds. I grasp on to the feathers, a familiar feeling, and the flap of wings sound familiar too.
Finally my vision clears and I realized what was going on. I was on Copernicus.
"Copernicus, buddy!" I shout, grabbing his neck and hugging him. He squawks in joy and clicks his tongue against his beak.
"Gods, I missed you, how did you find us?" I ask him.
Click click, sqwaaaak. Translating to "I heard you screaming."
"How? Wern't you like a billion miles away?" I say laughing. He squawks. Of course, hes the eagle of Zeus, he's magical, he's supposed to hear me from far away.
"You speak to birds and snakes?" Asks Thalia, I bite down my tongue not to respond the way I wanted to.
"Only Copernicus." I said shortly.
"Good news, see that? That's New York. We'll be at camp soon. Good job Copernicus" Said Jason, patting my bird. The bird clicks his tongue.

"Here ya go, have some nice birdy meat!" I say, throwing him a chunk of meat that he likes. I gave him five pieces, he deserved it. I grabbed on to his reign that I keep for walking him around and pull him with me towards the camp doors. Once inside, its pretty much like Camp Artemis. Archers, warriors, stealth practice, tree climbing, dining pavilion, all the same. I walk towards what they call the "Big House" or whatever and tie Copper to a lamp post, I hear giggles and awe's coming from around, people admiring my eagle. I smile to myself and knock on the door. A man, with a leopard shirt and fancy dress pants and slightly pudgy opens the door, sipping on a can of some sort of soft drink.
"Welcome! You must me the snake lady, come in, Chiron is waiting for you." He said. I nod and awkwardly shuffle past him into the building. Inside is a centaur with a book. He looks up and smiles, gesturing me to sit down on the couch.
"Welcome to Camp Half blood Vera. The trip I hope was not too rough? I heard of the Hydra, you did well. I assume you'd like to get settled, here is your schedule which you will definitely be needing. Dinner is soon, after you finish your meal, would you mind coming by here again, we have matters to discuss, but better to discuss those on a full stomach." He said. I liked him, he wasn't shoving my life story in my face and he wasn't looking at me funny.
"Thank you." I say smiling. I unroll the schedule.

It was a busy schedule, but I was prepared to have fun. I was guessing Dinner was at five to six. It was already 5: 46 so I went to my cabin to un pack.
"You can go if you want." I told Copper.
He clicked his tongue and shook his head.
"Alright.. then you'll have to stay at the cabin." I said, shrugging. Thalia and Jason already unpacked and headed off to dinner. Copper flew onto the flat roof of the cabin and watched over like a gargoyle. A knock resonated through the giant almost empty cabin and Nico walked in.
"Hey Death King." I said smirking.
"Gorgon." He replied devilishly.
"Shall we go feast like men?" I ask, speaking in a deep Irish accent. He scoffed.
"Okay loser, but don't turn my burger to stone." He said. I rolled my eyes. I closed the grand doors behind me and left.
"What was your natural hair colour?" He asked abruptly.
"Black." I said, frowning.
"Oh. So like Thalia?" He asked.
"Sort of. Why did it go silver?" I ask.
"Euryale had silver hair, if you remember. She was one of the most powerful gorgons of the three. Sthenos was dumb but she was immortal, unlike Medusa. Gaia keeps reviving her though, no matter how many times she dies. Only a god or goddess could have killed one of the immortal ones. Artemis did just that. You'll be okay though, you have a whole year almost, before the curse is full." He tried to reassure me.
We made it to the dining pavilion. Food magically appeared on the brass plates, and my goblet filled with my favourite drink. We parted ways, and I sat at the very empty Zeus table. Even Nico had a nother girl sitting at his table. She had black curly hair, dark skin but golden eyes. She caught me staring at her, she waves and smiled. I returned the gesture. I saw a bunch of people staring at me and it made me nervous. I felt my hair move and I willed it to stop. It did. I couldn't start another show here. People ate and left, it wasn't very strict timing. Most people ate fast and ran off to saviour their free time, but I ate slowly and thoughtfully.I was twiddling with the end of my braid, as I twirled spaghetti around my fork. That's when I realized it was almost six and I had no armour for capture the flag.
