Little did we know, the door that leads to the room we're standing in front of was open. And a certain person leaned near the door with their eyes wide open.
Ayumi-senpai.
"You guys.."
It took us a while to understand what's going on. How do surprised people react to these situations? Gasp?

"AYUMI-SENPAI!"
Didn't know why I did that.
The nurse who walked by turned over to me, and our eyes met. Is this true love?
Wake the hell up, (f/n).
All of the people around me immediately shushed me. Who knows, my voice might be heard downstairs. No, it's definitely heard downstairs.
This is so embarrassing.
Ayumi-senpai gave us a gesture to go inside the room before whispering, "Come, get inside." to us. I rushed inside, trying to hide my embarassed being from the people outside.
I looked over to Ayumi-senpai's mother, who is sleeping soundly the hospital's bed. I put one hand on my mouth and gasped, "Oh my goodness.. I'm really sorry." while looking at Ayumi-senpai.
She chuckled lightly and said, "It’s fine, my mom probably didn't hear that."
Karin looked over to Ayumi-senpai's mother and turned back to her. "Fevers are not supposed to stay very long, I'm sure she'll get dispatched right away." she said with a smile.
"Thank you, Hanatsubaki." Ayumi-senpai said and then quickly looked at Kise who caught her attention because of his unusual hair color. Or maybe his looks? No, that's probably not it.. haha.
"Ah, Kise-kun.. it's been a while. Did the girls still follow you around these days?" She asked him.
Kise was startled and scratched the back of his head.
"Uhm, well.."
And it's time for me to butt in.
"Face it yellow head, I'm seeing less and less of them everyday." I said.
Ayumi-senpai took her hand to her chin, as if she's thinking about something. "Maybe you're losing your fame around the school because you're hanging out with this bitch for too long." She said quietly but loud enough for me to hear.
But the yellow-haired boy didn't quite hear that, "Wh-what did you say again?" Kise asked.
"Oh, nothing! I was just talking to myself!" She said with a laugh.
Did she just...?
And then I heard the bed creaked. All of us looked over Ayumi-senpai's mother, only to see that she has woken up.
"Oh my gosh." Karin said.
"SHHHHHHHHH!" I shushed them, which actually made the situation 40% worse.
Ayumi-senpai's mother relaxed herself in the bed and put her hands to calm myself down, "Don't bother, young lady. I'm up anyway." she said.
"Oh my God, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to be too loud!" anddd.. I'm being loud again.
Ayumi-senpai stepped forward next to her mother and said, "No, no. It's alright."
She pointed at me and looked at her mother, "That's my friend I've been talking about, mom. Sweet isn't she?" she continued.
Two-faced ass.
Does that even exist?
Her mother smiled at me and nodded, "Definitely." she said, earning a blush from me.
"And the others are..?"
"Uhm. Good afternoon, ma'am. My name is Hanatsubaki Karin, I am (f/n)'s friend and I'm here to see how you're doing."
"Ooh, a nice young lady. There's no need to be so polite."
"And this handsome man is..?"
Handsome, my ass.
Upon hearing that, his face quickly turned pink. "Uh, um.. well.." he stuttered.
"What happened to your usual self? You're always been that noisy and annoying guy." I said, running out of patience.
"I.. just.."
Ugh.
I cleared my throat, "Ahem, this awkward boy here is called Kise Ryōta. He is apparently the most popular guy in our school and I don't know why he is one." I explained briefly and gave Ayumi-senpai's mother a smile at the end.
"That's.. very brief and understandable. Thank you." she said to me.
Kise, who probably got kinda annoyed by me poked me. "There's no need to explain myself to her that way." he said with a pout.
"I had no choice." I said, smiling sheepishly.

We made our way outside, saying goodbyes to Ayumi and her mother. I felt kind of uneasy after I mistakenly heard what she said. Is she always like that? But her mom is actually very sweet.. So she's been playing with me all this time?
And while I was thinking my minds out, Karin comfortably streched her hands and let out a breath, "Ahh.. I'm glad to see that her mom is alright." She said.
I looked at her and smiled, and then I realized something, "Karin, let's go to that book festival you told me!" I said as I put my palm to her shoulder.
She hesitated a bit and peeped over to Kise, who was right next to me for some reason.
"Um, you do realize that Kise-kun is here with us, right?" she asked me.
"Yeah.. well, I don't really care about him." I said with a hint of swag.
The yellow haired boy just got tRIGGeREd.
"What? Are you ignoring me now, (f/n)?" He asked.
Karin thought for a while and then suddenly jumped as if she found a great plan(That is, well, a really great plan of her own), "Oh! Well.. I can accompany you, but I won't stay for too long." she giggled.
I feel a bit nervous as soon as she giggled, what is wrong with my best friend?
"What? Where are you going?" I asked her.
And then she simply answered, "Family plans."
Oh noes, "Oh. I better go home then.." I said as I don't have anything else to say.
"Kise-kun can accompany you, right?"
DUN
DUN
DUN
"I have no plans for today." he said, stretching his arms.
And I have no choice.
"A-alright then.." I said.
Karin, being a fangirl, kept smiling and her eyes were glittering, "Then let's go!"
