3 & 1/2 Years Later

Reagan POV

"Where's Daddy?!"

I didn't answer straight away as all of the screaming continued. Too many kids were in this house right now, and they were all bad. Well, not mine. Mine were absolute angels. But, the rest were bad. The particular one that was talking to me right now was only 2, but the 2 words that he had just said were ones that he let frequently leave his mouth. Bending down to eye level with Taj, I smiled at him.

"Zayn will be back soon, sweetie. Go finish playing, and I'll make you and everyone else a snack. Okay?"

He nodded, forced down his tears, and ran back in the backyard. He was a strong little boy, but he depended on his father so much. He worshipped the ground that Zayn walked on, which isn't a bad thing. Zayn always wanted a son, and a Daddy's boy is what he got.

"Mum!"

As soon as I turned back around, I heard another familiar voice behind me. Pushing away my annoyance, I turned around to see my beautiful green-eyed daughter running towards me. Immediately, I smiled and let her leap into my outstretched arms.

"What's wrong, Elizabeth?"

"Aiden!"

Rolling my eyes at the now 7-year-old that was walking into my house, I raised an eyebrow at him.

"What did he do?” I asked my daughter.

"He took my toy!"

"Aiden, really? Stealing from a 3-year-old? Have you no shame?"

"I didn't take it", he shrugged, "technically, I had it first. Plus, it's a truck. She's a girl."

"So? If my daughter wants to play with a truck, then she can play with a truck. And, if my son wants to play with Trendy Barbie, I will drive to the nearest toy store."

"But, I did have it first", he pouted.

"And, you're more than double her age. You'll live. Give to the toy to the sweet girl."

Elizabeth smiled at me, obviously realizing that she had gotten what she wanted. She knew I couldn't say no to her. Her father and I both had trouble with that. She got down and walked over to Aiden. He handed her the toy, not too happy about it.

I frowned at his behavior, then decided to cut him some slack. He probably was just acting out again. That's what happened when you don't have a dad in your life anymore. Kadin does her best to play both parts, but there's only so much she can do. There's no one he can play football with anymore. Well, there is the rest of the boys, But, Aiden preferred Liam. It has been 3 and a 1/2 years since we lost L-.

I'm totally kidding by the way.

Liam is at work. And, Aiden always pouts when he doesn't gets his way. It's because Kadin and Liam give him whatever he wants. I'm not that type of parent, unless we're talking about my children. But, back to Liam. He had to have surgery on his vocal chords because of where the bullet hit. Kadin was a little dramatic in the emergency room when this information was announced, and the only funeral that we attended was Jones's. But, Liam is perfectly fine.

Of course, because of the surgery, Liam couldn't speak for 2 months. Kadin called it a blessing, but I knew she was trying to mask it with jokes. She was terrified that she had lost her husband. Other than not being able to make a couple of raspy sounds every now and then, Liam is alive and well. And, I'm sure once he gets off work, he'll be over here with Kadin. He'd better. He has to pick up his children.
