You And I

Chapter 22:

Its been two months since I had Ben and he decided to take a liking to Niall. He's been spending a lot of time with Ben lately. He takes him golfing with him and all Ben does is sit in his car seat that Niall straps into the golf cart. I was making dinner while Ben sat in his high chair. I was feeding him while making homemade pizza. I was listening to music so I was dancing around the kitchen and making funny faces at Ben when Ariana Grande's song "Into you" came on and I started dancing.

Ben was giggling even though I was dancing more like a stripper than a goof. I had just put the pizza in the oven. The two month old was a giggling mess as he watched mommy. I turned around and Niall was standing leaning against the door frame and I didn't even care I just kept dancing. I started singing along. "Cause I'm so into you, into you." I said pointing to Niall as Ben giggled. I smiled at him and continued dancing as I got dishes out for us and poured Niall and I drinks. I was doing dishes since I finished feeding Ben. After all the dishes were washed I took him and started burping him while slightly dancing.

Niall took Ben and I went back to dancing around the kitchen and getting things ready for dinner. Niall left to change Ben and when he came back he put Ben in his high chair and gave him toys to play with while we ate. When we were finished eating Niall took him and put him to bed while I got things cleaned up. "So you never danced like that in front of me but you'll do it to our son?" He asked coming in and drying the dishes to put them away.

"I figured you were home and watching that's why I did it." I said with a smirk. It was true the clock on my phone said it was right about the time he got home from work.

After everything was cleaned up and put away we went and cuddled on the couch until 10 and then decided to head to bed ourselves. At about 2 in the morning I woke up to Niall trying to calm down a screaming Ben. I ran into the nursery and gave Niall a look like "What happened?"

"He won't calm down." He said a panicked look on his face.

I walked over and took the baby into my arms. I felt his forehead and he was running a bit of a fever. I laid him down on the changing table and grabbed the medicine bag under it. I pulled out the baby fever med and gave it too him. I picked him up and sat down in the rocking chair and gave him his binlky. I rocked him back and forth making sure his head was on my chest so he could hear my heart beat. Soon he calmed down and went back to sleep. I kissed his forehead and put him in the crib and went back to bed myself, Niall following.

Niall laid down cuddling up to me and I laid there. "How did you know he was sick?" He asked playing with my hair.

"Mothers instinct."
