You And I

Chapter 27:

Syd:

Today we find out the gender of our next baby and of course Ben wanted to come to see if he was gonna get his sister. We walked into the doctors office and as I signed in the nurse smiled. "I'm hoping to get a sister." He said to her and she smiled with a small laugh. "The doctor will be with you shortly." She said looking at me and I smiled and said thank you before going to sit down. I pulled up Paw Patrol on my phone and let Ben sit and watch it. Niall sadly couldn't be here because he was working but I had Ben. Right when the nurse called me back the door opened and there stood Niall.

"Daddy!" Ben yelled running to him as he scooped Ben up in his arms.

"Hey little man, you ready to find out if you get your sister?" He asked and Ben nodded his head very fast.

"What are you doing here?" I asked kissing him as we walked with the nurse to the room.

"I figured that finding out my babies gender was more important then sitting around while they fix the mic." He said as he wrapped an arm around me.

We were in the room and were waiting for the doctor when Niall got a call from work. "Shouldn't you be heading back?" I asked as I laid on the table.

"They can wait." He said as the doctor knocked on the door and came in.

"And there is your baby. Are you wanting to find out the gender today?" The doctor asked.

"Yes!" Ben cheered and I knodded laughing slightly.

"Alright lets have a look here." The doctor said moving the camera around.

"And you are pregnant with a very healthy baby girl." The doctor smiled as he looked at us.

"YES!" Ben yelled as Niall hit his arm. "Don't scream." He said as he got up and kissed me.

"I'm getting a sister." Ben sang over and over.

Niall's phone started ringing again but he ignored it. "Shouldn't you answer that?" I asked.

"I'm gonna take the rest of the day of. We have shopping to do." He said with a smile as we left.

We got to the mall and Ben was instantly tired of having to walk around so we singed him into a child play area and he went to play while we shopped. We got a bunch of clothes for our new baby girl as everyone congratulated us when we left stores. We were going to get Ben when I saw something I just thought that Ben would love. I always feel bad when we go shopping and don't get him something, not to mention he's at that age where he has to get something even if it's just a lollipop.

I walked into the store and grabbed the game. It was a Paw Patrol version of memory. I figured not only does it make him happy it helps his memory. I paid for the game and walked out of the store to find Niall swarmed with fans. As soon as they saw me they all stopped talking and looked at me except one fan who was trying to be all over him even though she was way younger than him. Niall walked away from her and over to me, kissed me and grabbed my hand and we walked away.

We got to the play area and Ben was playing in a bounce house. When he saw us he came running over and put his shoes and was jumping at the gate waiting for the worker to let him out. They opened the door and he came bouncing out and hugged Niall and I. We all walked to the car and we put him in his car seat. He was talkative for about the first 20 minuets of the drive the rest of the time he just looked out the window at the scenery.

When we got home we put him down for a nap, while Niall and I decorated for his surprise party.
