Chapter 26:

Syd:

Today's the day, it's Christmas morning. I grabbed Ben and took him downstairs. I stayed up late getting all of his gifts under the tree. My mom and dad came over and I made coffee for them. I had a trick up my sleeve for telling them about the new baby. I sat Ben on the floor and sat with him and handed him presents. He was having fun ripping the paper off getting a lot of Paw Patrol things. He got stuffed animals, clothes, cups, blankets, and so on. Finally there was one present left and it was for me. I picked it up and opened it. It was a small velvet box and Niall got on the floor with us.

"Sydney, I know we had our ups and downs, but without you I'd be lost. I need you in my life. You're the mother of my son and that being said, I want you to be my wife. So, Sydney Ann, will you marry me?" Niall asked taking the box from me and opening it. My mom was snapping pictures like crazy and I was crying. I shook my head yes as Niall pulled me into a hug. He slid the ring on my finger and Ben cheered along with my mom and dad.

Ben found the last present and picked it up. "It's for papa and nanny." He said standing and walking over to them and handing it to my mom. "Ben, you just walked for the first time." I said more tears running down my face. Damn does being pregnant make you emotional.

"I DID IT MOMMY!" He yelled running over to me and I pulled him into a hug.

My mom opened the gift and saw the baby shoes. "I think these aren't for us." She said.

"Flip them over." Ben said.

She did and there she saw my due date. "You're expecting number two?" She asked tears now rolling down her cheeks as she came and pulled me into a hug. "I'm hoping for a sister." Ben said with a smile.

"We all are." I said.

"Well, we're just happy that we're gonna have two grand kids to spoil now." My mom said.

"Just don't go overboard. I don't want you guys going bankrupt." I said with a laugh.

We ate and talked and laughed and ate dinner. Erica came over with Louis and Freddy. Freddy and Ben are best friends and they both sat and watched Paw Patrol after dinner. Erica was dying of laughter when she found out that I was pregnant after she dropped off my "gift" I almost ended her. We were all sitting around catching up in the living room when I heard a noise from the living room. I walked in and the boys were laying on the floor laughing.

"What happened?" I asked.

"The remote fell and we were trying to reach it without getting off the couch." Ben said between fits of laughter as Freddy nodded agreeing. I just sighed and looked at Niall.

"He is for sure your kid." I said with a laugh as I helped them up and they got back on the couch. I put the remote on the side table and told them that if they needed it they could get it but it goes back on the table before someone gets hurt.

"But mom that takes the fun out of it." Ben said.

"FUN SUCKER!!" Freddy yelled.
