You And I

Chapter 4:

Syd:

"Niall?" I asked.

"Yeah, is this a bad time, I can come back some other time." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"No, come in." I said opening the door to let him in.

"Thanks." He said as he came inside and I closed the door behind him.

"So what brings you here?" I asked.

"Well, I'm guessing you saw the story on the news." He said.

"Yeah but I'm in no place to really say or do anything, we're not dating." I said with a sigh.

"Well me and that girl aren't dating either. That was a fan that got through security." He said.

"Oh." I said crossing my arms over my chest.

"I have no clue who she is." He said as I dropped my arms back down to my side. "I hope this doesn't change anything between us." He said pulling me into a hug.

I missed this. Us being best friends. We sat for hours just talking and catching up. He told me all about his family and his time with One Direction and how he misses it but they're all still friends and it's nice to finally be out on his own.

"So have any boyfriends?" He asked.

"One." I said. I dated once guy since I left Ireland and it didn't last long, my first kiss was Niall when I was eight and that was not planned.

"How about you mister ladies man?" I asked shoving him with my elbow.

"A few one night stands here and there but nothing serious." He said.

"Wow, I didn't realize that being in a boy band would turn you into such a man whore." I said making us both start laughing.

"I was not that bad. Harry was the worst." He said as we both started laughing again.

"I enjoy how close we have gotten since we finally got back together." He said as we sat on the couch.

"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked him as I got up and walked to the entertainment center.

"Sure." He said.

I put in Mean Girls and went back to the couch. We were sitting watching the movie when I felt Niall move closer to me. I just let it happen, I was use to him sitting close to me being that if we had to ride in his families car we had to fit with his siblings. By the time the movie ended we were laying on the couch cuddling and he was playing with my hair as I was starting to fall asleep.

"Awe, you guys are so cute together." Erica said walking in the door.

I sat up strait and realized that it was almost midnight. "I should probably get going." Niall said as he sat up and I walked him to the door.

"So, you guys dating?" She asked.

"No, we are just friends." I said.

"Yeah okay." She said smirking.

"Best friends can cuddle, it's not weird." I said walking up to my room.

I flopped down on my bed and realized that my clothes smelled like Niall. I smiled and just laid there replaying the night in my mind. My phone buzzed causing my whole bed to vibrate.

"I'm home safe, see you tomorrow at work -N"

I texted him back saying goodnight and see you tomorrow before putting my phone on the charger and laying in bed. I smiled as I thought about the one time we had a sleep over in a tent in my backyard when we were 7.

*Flashback*

It was me and a few of my friends on my 7th birthday. It was late July and we had pitched a tent in the backyard. All of us kids were in the tent having a blast and Niall and I were the last two kids up. The sunrise was amazing and I honestly didn't want the night to end. Niall and I always had fun when we were together even when he was tutoring me in math and I tutored him in science. We would make up real life situations to help us understand the problems. When my other friends woke up Niall and I were sleeping and when we woke up it was 3 in the afternoon and my parents had just got home from work.
