Chapter 30 ~ Never Leave A Family Member Behind

Z POV: 

I didn't scream.
I didn't cry. 

Craig screeched and flung forward, being held back by Tyler's arms.
He was screaming and crying. 
"TYLER! HOW COULD YOU! YOU ASSHOLE! SAMANTHA! Z! NO!!" He was screeching. 
Tyler was silent, taking all of Craig's punches.

It went incredibly slow. 
I felt soft tears drift onto my cheeks.
I would never be able to find my family. 

Why was I taking so long to fall? 
Why can't I just die already?

All these thoughts blurred my vision as I was suddenly stopped in mid-air.
What was going on? 
I can't see.
A pair of arms were around my waist now, holding me tight.
I didn't get to see who it was, but I was soon back onto the flat, hard surface on the mountain. 
I couldn't breathe, it felt like my lungs were sucked out of me. 

My memory slowly flowed back onto me, and a sobbing, red-faced Craig soon appeared, sliding my head into his lap.
I couldn't hear anything, I was too dizzy.
I could see his mouth moving, his tears sliding down his cheeks, but I couldn't understand what the hell he was saying. 
I couldn't move.
I laid there on the ground, and soon Craig realized I couldn't hear him, and he stood up, laying my head down, and pushed down Tyler. 

Daithi POV:

She was unresponsive, but she was alive. 
Craig had screamed until I brought her back to the edge, pulling her from my fingers and cradling her like a baby.
"Craig, she can't hear. The elevation from the fall put her into shock." I whispered, but he growled and pushed me away, tapping on her face, trying to get her to answer.

She could see, I think. 
She was limp and deaf, though. 
When he realized that she actually WAS in shock, he laid her down next to me and jumped up, running over to Tyler and throwing him down.

"WHAT THE FUCK, MINI?!" Tyler screamed.
"HOW COULD YOU FUCKING DO THAT? HOW CAN YOU ACTUALLY KILL HER LIKE THAT? YOU SICK BASTARD! SHE'S A HUMAN TOO, YOU KNOW!"  He screeched, kicking Tyler.

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO HELP ME! YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID!" He yelled back.
"AND YOU'RE GOING TO KILL HER FOR THAT? WHAT THE FUCK, TYLER!? SHE'S YOUR GODDAMN FAMILY! YOU'RE ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE SHE HAS LEFT!" Mini hollered back.
"SHE KILLED MY FATHER!!!!!" Tyler screeched.
"AND SHE PROTECTED YOUR ASS FROM HIM, TOO, DIDN'T SHE? WHEN HE LEFT, WHO WAS RIGHT FUCKING HERE TO SUPPORT YOU?! WHENEVER KELLY BROKE UP WITH YOU, WHO WAS RIGHT FUCKING BESIDE YOU, THROUGH EVERYTHING, INCLUDING MURDER, EVEN THOUGH YOU HATED HER???!" He yelled.
"SHE WAS NEVER FUCKING THERE! SHE ALWAYS HATED ME!" Tyler yelled.
"SHE DIDN'T HATE YOU, TYLER! AND YOU KNOW IT!!!" Mini was sobbing and screaming.
"YOU WERE HER BROTHER, TYLER! SHE WOULD DIE FOR YOU, YOU'RE HER FAMILY, SHE TRUSTS YOU, AND YOU'RE GOING TO FUCKING KILL HER!" 
Tyler was silent.
"I don't know why you hate her so much, maybe because she is more loyal and more loving than you. I don't know why you despise her, but I don't, I see who she really is. I don't care if you think she's worthless, or if she's a bitch. Maybe you need to set your priorities straight, and actually realize who the true killer is here." Mini said, throwing down his pocket knife to the ground, right beside Tyler.

"Let's go home, Daithi. I don't care if Evan will bitch at us. He can do this on his own." Mini said. 
I sighed and walked over.

He pushed my hand away when I tried to help.
"I've got her." He said.
I nodded.

"All you're giving me is a knife to protect myself with?" Tyler growled.
Mini didn't answer, he just picked Z up in his hands, bridal style, and started walking off. 

Tyler cursed under his breath. 

Then he pushed my shoulder.

"Why the hell did you save her, Daithi?" He asked.

I looked at him and shook my head before turning around.

"No matter what anyone does, no matter what happens..." I said, grabbing my crossbow and aiming it just in case, providing extra protection for Mini. 

"You never leave a family member behind."

Z POV: 

I woke up, naked, in a freezing cold bathtub.
What the hell?
I looked all around me, and I discovered that I could move again.
A pile of clothes were folded neatly on top of the toilet, with a note.

My dear Z,

I heard the whole story.
I can't believe he would do something like that.
In fact, I'm going to take him before Evan after you wake up.
We are going to see he could be dismissed and exiled immediately.
He caused a threat to a family member, the most serious crime of them all.
You have every right to be mad, however, we have to win this war. 
As much as we need the soldiers, as much as we need a bigger army, Wildcat will no longer be permitted to fight alongside us, and as always, I will stand up and represent you, I will always help you receive justice. You were put into a shock, so your memory may be blurred. Tyler attempted to throw you off the side of the mountain on the way to fulfill the mission. I am certainly glad that Daithi De Nogla went with you three and saved you, and I am so thankful that Mini Ladd brought you back to us as quickly and safely as possible, it could have costed you your life if he hadn't done so. 
As much as I figure you want revenge on Tyler, you can not show him any threats whatsoever until the trial. If you do, he may be able to override us, and he may stay after all. We don't want that.
As much of a son to me that boy is, what he did was dreadfully horrible, and he should no longer be allowed in this gang ever again. 
I left clothes under this note for you, hopefully you can get to them in no problem.
I'm so sorry about what you went through, and I swear we will solve this and handle this business as soon and fluently as possible.
I love you, Princess, you are the only daughter I have.
You've been so strong, and for that I am grateful and extremely proud.
Thank you for all you've done.
Meet me in my room whenever you wake up, it takes a while to recover from this, I know, but I'll be waiting.

My stomach jumped.
