CHAPTER ONE: No Worries,Dad's Back Now

Saturday is so cool cause I can feel the early morning breeze gently make its way into my room. I can easily make out the soft clinking sound of the drape on the metal rod holding it as Vanessa draws it to the side in order to open the window. Actually, she knows better not to come near my bed to wake me because I'm not really a morning person. So normally, she opens the window and calls my name to ensure I'm awake then leaves instantly. Well, it's a relief to know that all my threats work in my favour. Presently, am waiting for her to call my name and leave,so I can sleep off again once I hear the door close. But with the look of things this morning, I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon considering the fact that she's taking too long to call my name. What exactly is she doing?
I made a grumpy sound just to get her attention.

"Van, I'm awake. You can leave now." I said not opening my eyes.

"Hmm... Not anytime soon"

I thought I would hear Van's voice or better still, the closing of the door. Instead of that, I heard a very familiar masculine voice and a swift movement and I blink my eyes open a little bit. A familiar masculine frame hovered over me and then I felt a soft peck on my forehead and a warm gentle stroke on my cheeks. This is strange because, just one person does this and the last time I check,he is out on a business trip. I don't know if I should scream that person's name or just confirm first so it won't seem like I'm hallucinating.

"Morning, Sleeping Beauty." That's a confirmation. It's him. I turn to face him and my eyes instantly clashed with his dark blue ones. To say I'm surprised is an understatement. Shocked is the most wonderful explanation for this moment. I'm shocked because if I was told Dad is coming back today, I won't believe it. I still talked with him yesterday and he didn't mention he's coming back today. It's been long since I saw his cute self.

"Sunshine!!!" I squealed and embrace him. Can't believe I'm actually hugging my Dad.

"Shocked?"

"More than. I miss you so much that it seems like it's been ages since I last saw you". I said,snuggling into him the more.

''I miss you too, baby girl. Two months isn't a joke". He pecks my forehead.

"Why didn't you inform me of your arrival. It is as if you are not coming back anytime soon. When did you arrive and how was your journey?" I said all in one breath.

"Easy... One at a time. I can see you miss me so much that you said all of that in one breath." He laughs wholeheartedly

"Huh! Did I?" I covered my face with my palms to avoid him seeing my flushed cheeks.

"Yes, you did." He tickles me and I laughed.

"I'm sorry a month had to turn into two. And for making you miss me this much." He apologize in such a cute way. I just hugged myself to his chest.

"I know that all you do is for the good of everyone at home. We all understand and cherish you. Though, I can't bare missing you too much." I kissed his cheeks

"You don't know how beautiful you look when you act like a baby."

"I'm no longer a baby." I screamed.

"You act all babyish. So you are and will always be my baby." He said, playing with my cheeks.

I smile and replied. "You will always be my Sunshine."

He smiles back at me. "You know what?"

"What Sun?"

"Do you know what makes me an important man? Ask me what". He said, looking at me with his ever so genuine smile.
