Julia's POV
Things were normal by the time I woke up this morning. I skipped dinner yesterday and it's for sure that I will be questioned. So to avoid all that, I tried to put on the biggest smile to wave off an interrogative session with my family which might possibly lead to telling them about this Thompson whatever his name is. They actually asked but me being me, I dodge behind the veils of been tired and I hope they all eat up my lie. I hope.
Here I'm in my second class for the day, trying to settle down. All three of my friends and Julee's friends are present. I'm seated in the middle of the classroom with Julee gorgeously plastered to my side since he claims he isn't going to seat elsewhere but beside me, his other half. Our friends are seated beside and behind us.
The room is buzzing as students settle in. Mr Rogers is never early to class and when he does come, he gives little or no explanation before engaging us in class activities. I guess he's like that because students often annoy him. Ten minutes for Mathematics class to start.
Everyone is busy with whatever they are busy with and I'm not in the mood to talk. The rest of my friends are busy laughing and shouting except for Julius, he doesn't look too happy as his smiles aren't reaching up to his face. I don't want to disturb him knowing how he is. I brought out my phone and started playing Candy Crush... I mean who doesn't like that game?
"Hey Pumpkin" Who calls me by that? You are right
"Hmm... Can I help you?" I replied without stopping the game
"I heard there's this new guy in school. To be precise in your class" He said not ask. Definitely there's something more to this
"Uh... Yeah... Did you... I mean, anything the prob" I stammered and keep playing to dissolve all nervousness. Of course he will know about a new intake but not about me being his partner. Not because it's bad to have a partner but because he is a Boy. Talk of possessiveness in conjunction with protectiveness.
"Ain't you partners?" I instantly looked at him. His eyes are on me.
"How did you...?" I trailed off when Ryan Just smirked and turn away, facing the front as if he just confirmed something.
"So, you weren't going to tell anyone?" he fiddled with his pen. Not once looking at me
"Uhmmm... I was going to but then..." I tucked in a strand of hair at the back of my ear.
"But then what?" Julius snapped catching the attention of the whole class. Silence "You reconsidered, thinking no one will know? Have you thought of changing partners?" He gave me a questioning look. Why is he angry?
Jules angry face diverted towards the door and I looked just in time to see Rude. Of all time to show his face, he chose this one. He is standing their with his hands crossed over his chest watching the drama unfold.
"That's not it Jules. And how did you know?" I snapped back
"You've been acting weird since yesterday during lunch which you skipped and after. You even skipped dinner." He yelled back avoiding my question. He didn't look away from the door. He's not always like this. What happened? I calmed down before replying
"Will you just calm down and I'll explain"
He stand up making his chair fall back.
"You better do." Without uttering another word, I was pulled out of class. Everyone was looking at us in shock. When we got to the door, Julius gave Rude a murderous stare. He did not budge or feel intimidated, he is in fact smirk-smiling. What a jerk.
