"Lots of people want to ride the limo with you but what you want is someone who can take the bus with you when the limo breaks down."
Oprah Winfrey.Richard's POV
The door creaks open and in comes Ed with Julia closely behind him. My eyes landed on her, she looks a bit worried as her eyes met mine. She had only taken few steps away from the door before I stalk my way to her in what I would term giant steps and just as I've been waiting for her to arrive so I can hug her, I pulled her in my arms for a hug.I nuzzle my head into the crook of her neck and tighten my arms a bit more around her waist. She gasp but then wrap her arms around me to rub gently.
"Thank you so much baby, I love you and I can't tell you how grateful I am to have you." I said in a rush.
I heard the door close but before it finally did, I saw the back of my Dad and that of Ed, he even turned a bit to smile at me before exiting the room.
That's the first time Ed smiled at me and it's kinda crazy in a good way.
"Hey!" She said, still holding me. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." I croak out. "But my eyes are a bit puffy and red. You don't wanna look, trust me." I joked and made light of the issue, but it is true my eyes are red and puffy but I'm fine after that long hours spent on crying and pouring out my heart in his chest.
I'd talked about a lot of things while crying, mostly about Mum and how I missed her and Bob.
The tears were worth it.
Julia laughs. "Who says I don't want to look." She slowly pull away and look me in the eye. "These are not just a bit red, they are like bloodshot red." She examines my face and pout. I chuckle. "You still look cute."
"I'm always cute come what may." I smirk and pull us to two sits.
After taking our seats, Julia kept looking at me without saying a word. Makes me a bit shy and awkward with her eyes glowing and lips spreading out.
"Why you looking at me like that?" I asked.
"Because I love to and besides you are awesome, handsome boyfriend." She smiles. "You did well and behaved. With the way you are smiling, I am sure everything went well."
I smiled back. "Yes, it did. We kind of talked it out, I heard his side of the story, it was worth it." I paused. "I shared my side of it and he is deeply sorry, I understand better now and I've realized how hard have been to him. He did a lot that I couldn't comprehend. All this while, I've hated him with no reason at all." I fiddled around on my seat. "But all that has changed. He asked for my forgiveness, I have forgiven him, I really have." Julia smiles and rubs the back of my hand. She looks up at me with such uncommon pride, I instantly feel cherished. "He asked for a chance and..." I trailed off and look away from her. From the corner of my eyes, I knew she is curious to know, she even readjusted in her seat.
"And?" It came out drawled. Her hand that was rubbing on my hands has slowed down a bit from how they had been doing before. Without being told, I also know my girlfriend is silently praying, I could hear how fast her heart is beating. "Cmon Richard." She pressed.
I faced her, her eyes burned into mine in anxiety. "I have given it a thought already and I have decided to give him a chance. Just this once."
Julia's head flung backwards, her eyes closed in relief as a sigh escapes her lips. Once her head turned back to look at me, well they came back with a smile like no other, then before I know it, I'm being cuddled by an excited Julia.
