Ch 9 Dueling For Love

Jaden awoke the next day and he knew what day it was. It was the day that he won the duel between Harrington and he became the fiancé to Alexis. Then he thought about the Obelisk queen and then Yubel appeared in front of him and startled by her sudden appearance. Yubel said "Jaden I know that you like her and she likes you back. Do you not remember what she was going to say to you after the tag duel. She wanted to say that she loved you and you were so blind by the duel that you didn't account for her feelings and now you will ok. What I want you to do is to accept the duel but not to the terms ok."

Jaden nodded about he knew that he was trying to be a good friend and both Yubel and Jaden wanted Alexis to become Jaden's special someone. So they made their way to school were they had to play tennis. Jaden was getting bored but then he realized that he needed to him the ball toward Alexis. Then a man was able to save her from being hit by the ball. Then Jaden ran up to Alexis and helped her up as she had fallen to ground because of the ball coming at her. Jaden then said to Alexis "hey, Lex I am sorry for almost hitting you." Alexis said "it is ok I hope that next time you aim before you hit the ball."

Then Alexis was blocked by the guy that was Harrington. Harrington introduced himself to Alexis and was flirting with her. Jaden was becoming jealous and his eyes turned into Yubel's eyes. Alexis saw this and thought 'why is Jaden getting angry. Wait he doesn't like me talking to this guy. I like him but I don't think it is the right time when I get the right moment.' Jaden then turned his eyes back to normal. Then Jaden starts to talk to Alexis and Harrington is angry that an Obelisk like Alexis talking to a Slifer slime like Jaden.

Then Harrington introduced himself to Alexis and he tried to impress her by saying that he was the captain of the tennis team. Then Alexis walked away and Jaden was then punished for the ball hitting Crowler. He was then sentenced to join the tennis team. He was then being worked to death. Then Alexis, Syrus, Jasmine, and Mindy went to the tennis court. Alexis saw that Jaden had fallen to the ground and she ran out to help him. Harrington had lust in his eyes seeing Alexis.

But then Harrington saw Alexis helping Jaden up. He then said "hey, who said you could be with my girl." Jaden said as he was helped up "well she is my friend and she not your girl as she has her own choice to date ok." Harrington said "she belongs to me and only me because I am rich and famous. So do yourself a favor and back off and let me have my prize." Jaden said "she is her own person and she can make her own mind, and how you are acting I doubt she would ever want to be your girl."

At that point Harrington broke and said "Jaden I challenge you to a duel and the winner gets to be Alexis' fiancée." Alexis said "hold on don't I get a say in it." Jaden said "I agree to the duel but not to the terms." Alexis heart beat faster as she heard what Jaden said. They both got there duel disk and said "duel."

Harrington draws. He then activates "Service Ace" by picking a card from his hand. Jaden must guess if it is a Monster, Spell or Trap. If he is incorrect, he will take 1500 damage. Jaden chooses Spell, but then he changes his choice to Trap. The chosen card is then revealed to be the monster "Mega Thunderball". The chosen card is then removed from play (Jaden 4000 → 2500). Harrington's hand is shown to contain "Smash Ace", "Service Ace", and two "Mega Thunderballs". Harrington Sets a card.

Jaden draws "Feather Wind" while his hand contains "Elemental Hero Avian", "Elemental Hero Clayman", "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix" and two unspecified cards. Jaden Normal Summons "Avian" (1000/1000) in Attack Position. "Avian" attacks directly, but Harrington activates his face-down "Receive Ace" to send the top three cards of his Deck to the Graveyard, negate the attack, and inflict 1500 damage to Jaden (Jaden 2500 → 1000). Jaden Sets a card.

Harrington draws "Smash Ace" and subsequently activates it to reveal the top card of his Deck. If it is a monster, he can inflict 1000 damage to Jaden. He draws "Mystical Shine Ball", so Jaden takes 1000 damage, but Jaden activates his face-down "Feather Wind" to negate the effect of "Smash Ace" and destroy it. The card revealed is then sent to the Graveyard due to the last effect of "Smash Ace".

Jaden draws "Polymerization" and subsequently activates it to fuse "Clayman" and "Burstinatrix" together and Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster" (2000/2500) in Attack Position. "Avian" and "Rampart Blaster" then attack directly (Harrington 4000 → 3000 → 1000).

Harrington draws "The Big Server". Since both players have only 1000 Life Points, Harrington activates "Deuce". Now, both players may attack with only one monster during each Battle Phase. Whoever can inflict Battle Damage twice without the opponent doing so in-between the two strikes wins the Duel. If a player takes damage from their opponent, the number of times that player is considered to have inflicted damage will become 0. Also while "Deuce" is face-up, neither player can lose the Duel if their Life Points hit 0.

Harrington Normal Summons "The Big Server" (300/300) in Attack Position. "The Big Server" attacks directly via its own effect (Jaden 1000 → 700). Since "The Big Server" inflicted Battle Damage, its effect activates, allowing Harrington to add "Service Ace" from his Deck to his hand and allowing Jaden to draw a card ("Feather Shot"). Harrington activates "Service Ace" to pick a card from his hand and make Jaden guess the card type. Jaden declares "Monster" and Harrington reveals the picked card as "Mega Thunderball". "Mega Thunderball" is then removed from play. Harrington then activates "Giant Racket", equipping it to "The Big Server". Now, once per turn, the equipped monster can't be destroyed by battle and Harrington will take no Battle Damage from that battle.

Jaden draws "De-Fusion" and subsequently activates it to return "Rampart Blaster" to the Fusion Deck and Special Summon "Clayman" (800/2000) and "Burstinatrix" (1200/800) from his Graveyard in Attack Position. Jaden then activates "Feather Shot" by selecting "Avian". Now, in addition to a normal attack, "Elemental Hero Avian" will gain one additional attack for every other monster Jaden controls. Jaden controls two, so "Avian" gains two additional attacks.

"Avian" attacks "The Big Server", but Harrington activates the effect of "Giant Racket", which prevents "The Big Server" from being destroyed and prevents Harrington from taking Battle Damage. "Avian" attacks and destroys "The Big Server" (Harrington 1000 → 300). "Avian" then attacks directly (Harrington 300 → 0). Due to the effect of "Deuce", Jaden automatically wins.

Jasmine and Mindy were happy for Alexis that she was going to get a fiancée. But Jaden walked up to Alexis and said could you guys give us a moment." The gang then dispersed and it was just Jaden and Alexis. Jaden said "I know that accepting the terms would have made you unhappy but I wanted to let you know that you are  kind person and I will be by your side till the end." Alexis said "well I was unhappy but you refused the terms to in my mind you are a good guy and I hope that we can be friends forever."

Then Yubel appeared behind Alexis and took physical form and pushed Alexis and Jaden caught her in a tight embrace. The two looked each other in the eyes and then blushed. They then went there separate ways but Alexis said to herself 'I like how he blushes my heart says to tell him but my mind says not to.' Then her duel spirit Cyber Tutu appears and said "Alexis follow your heart and don't for get that he was the one to save you from Titan and he beat Zane too." Alexis said "I will tell him before our time together is up at the academy ok."

Jaden said to Yubel "what was that for?" Yubel laughed and said "I wanted to see if both of you liked one another and it turns out to be true. Jaden she likes now do something about it before someone else snatches her up." Jaden said "I will tell her after the tag duel when she was going to say something to me but didn't ok." Yubel said "well maybe there is another way to bond the two of you together. Talk about duel spirits as she can see them as well ok." In Jaden's mind it was a great plan and maybe have just the two of them and a picnic at the cliffs.
