*Alex's POV*
The next memory I was going to sing about was the first time we met, and, to be honest, I was fucking scared out of my mind. I hadn't sang about it in concert for a while and I wasn't sure what my emotions would do. It was an incredible night for me, just seeing her face, and then hearing that beautiful voice come out of it. A sting went through my body just thinking about hers and how good she looked that night.
I lifted the microphone to my lips, "Okay, so this song is from our album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', and it's called 'This House is a Circus'" I concluded, my voice obviously sounding nervous.
*Lillia's POV*
Well, I was officially just purely thinking of him. I still thought maybe one of these could be about us, I mean they all sounded like they were about us, maybe they were, maybe he still loves me. "No, Lillia, stop that." I mentally told myself. I had to quit thinking that he might still be interested. He's famous now and there is no way he's ever going to like you again. He can have anyone he wants now, and that is not you. But, hey, just because he didn't want me anymore didn't mean I had to stop daydreaming about the times when he wanted me.
His voice came through the mic to correspond with the music, and there I was. That house party. It wasn't a huge place, but it certainly seemed like it that night. I had no idea who was hosting, but someone invited me so my girlfriend and I had decided to come. We were sophomores, and we had never been invited to a party like this one before. We had been more introverted before, and we had no idea what to expect from this. I got dressed in my best casual party look, doc martens, dark wash jeans, a t-shirt from a random café I probably received from my mother, and my volume filled hair and makeup. I was trying to look casual, like maybe I hadn't done much to get ready, but this ensemble had taken all night to perfect. As we walked through the door I was paralyzed by fear inside.
That was when I first saw Alex. We locked eyes as he was standing by the entrance with a cup in his hand, his shaggy hair falling in his face, talking with some people I'd never seen. In fact, I'd never seen anyone at this party, and it was freaking me out even further. My friend left immediately with some guy who looked like a total douche, but had somehow weaseled his way into her affections for the night. I was actually starting to consider walking right back out the door since I had now been standing in the same for about 5 minutes just being awkward and wondering how to have fun at this sort of thing.
*Alex's POV*
She looked so beautiful. She stood so perfectly and calmly at the entrance like she knew someone would come over to her quickly and try to be with her. I was that boy. I dropped whoever the fuck was talking to me right then and there and made my way over. I was nervous to see what she would say, who she would be. I never expected her to be so wonderful on the inside too. That was honestly when I fell in love with her first. Not when I first saw her, that was simple lust, but what came next, the conversation, that's when the complex love set in.
*Lillia's POV*
He walked straight up to me. I didn't know what to do, but I figured I would give him a chance. "Hey, love, what's your name? I'm Alex." his accent was strong. "Uh nice to meet you; I'm Lillia." I managed to stutter out. "Do you know who actually hosted this party? I was just invited by some friend, so I've got no clue." I didn't really care who actually started this party, but I was not about to lose my first friend here. "Yeah, my mate Charlie, wanna meet him?" Well, this was going smoothly. One friend could now turn in to two. "Sure, sounds good." I tried to sound casual, but I was really in need of some people to spend this night with.
We made our way through the crowd to where I had somehow pictured us finding Charlie alone. Of course he wasn't, though; he was crowded around in a group of chairs with a bunch of other guys. It was strange that their were only a couple girls, and even stranger that they simply got up and left when I entered the scene. Alex introduced me, "Hey, mate, this is Lillia; she's come to your party without even knowing you. You must be quite the popular one, eh?" He laughed, and so did everyone else in the small group. Charlie extended his arm, "Hey, darling, you look great, so I'm glad you showed up even if you don't know me." I saw Alex give Charlie a harsh glance, and suddenly I felt like I needed to be free of him and make sure to make the most friends possible. It was like some sort of social spirit had ignited in me, and his interest in me was the match.
We sat down with all of them, and immediately entered in to conversation. I can't even remember the topic, but I do remember all eyes seemed to be on me. I had never felt that special, or had that much attention, and I wasn't really sure why I was getting it, but I was liking it. Someone said they wanted to get a drink, and asked if I would join them. I wasn't about to say no to a new friend who wanted my company and would inevitably introduce me to more friends, so I got up and followed him. We stood in the kitchen of the house by the keg talking to various people when I noticed Alex, there again. He talked with us until I somehow moved out of range again, but still he continued to pop up in every conversation I became involved in.
I was determined to get rid of him at this point. I wanted to keep moving around the party, to be socially oriented with all these new people, but he seemed determined to make sure I do just the opposite. Later on he told me he really was trying to stop me, but only because he wanted to talk to me alone so desperately, to know me. That was one of the most shocking and sweet things that had been said to me, and little did I know there would be more to come during our relationship. After seeing him everywhere I went though, and hearing him comment during all those conversations, I actually did start to take an interest as well. At last, I simply picked up and said I was going to take a breather with the last line of "You can join me if you want, Alex." almost a whisper but obviously loud enough for him to hear as he fluttered behind me to a room upstairs.
*Alex's POV*
It must have been the alcohol or my pea sized brain at 16, but I honestly thought she was letting me go up there with her to bang her. As I closed the door, though, she made it clear. "Look, I didn't bring you in hear to nail me or anything, so don't get the wrong idea." Even though my hormones hopes were smashed, I still was amazed at how beautiful any words could sound coming out of her mouth. "I just noticed you seemed interested, and I wanted to get to know you more." She was perfect. She noticed me, and she understood. I just nodded my head, dumbfounded at how she even existed.
So that night, we talked. As boring as it sounds, it was just what I wanted, and I was intensely happy about it. I won't lie, and say nothing happened that night. We made out for a while, and things were heated at times, but for the most part we just got to know each other. I found out the way she worked, so many things about her, and I still couldn't get enough, so I wrote about it.
