AN: Hey guys, so here's another chapter... and another cliffhanger! Sorry if you don't like the suspense, but I feel like the layout is better if done over a few chapters, and besides, this is a pretty big issue! Anyways, please keep rating, and get me to 300 stars because it would mean so much to me! And, of course, continue commenting because it's always nice to hear what y'all like/dislike, what you look forward to, what you think will happen, etc. x Laurel

*Lillia's POV*

Newly empowered after my phone rant to Alex, I picked up the phone again.

"Hello?"

"Hey Danny, It's Lillia. I know everything was sort of messed up yesterday, but I wanted you to know that I'd still like to give this a try, I think."

"Oh, you do? I thought you were going to get that Alex guy…" He didn't seem upset with the situation, and he sounded like he just understood that things could be complicated.

"Well, I just told him off on the phone, and he didn't seem to have a response to his wrongs, so I think it's over."

"Okay then, if it's not too early, how about dinner tonight?" I paused. Was it too early? Vi nodded her head with a giant thumbs up, and I realized she had been listening this whole time. But she was right. If I wanted to get over Alex then I needed to do it quickly.

"No, no, that's fine. Not too early. Let's do it… but no where too fancy, okay Mr. Big Shot?"

I could hear him smile through the phone, and I knew I had made the right decision, or at least I thought I had.

"Okay, I'll try not to find anything too fancy. See you then." *Click*

I turned to Vi. "Well, that was easy." She smiled. "Now, everything is settled. Perfect." But, as I was about to realize, things weren't settled just yet. The doorbell rang.

"Alex… What are you doing here?"

*Alex's POV*

I didn't have time to plan some romantic gesture; I just wanted her back, so I ran to her flat as fast as I could, although I wasn't as sure about the idea anymore. She was confused as to why I had come.

"I'm here because I want you back. And I need to clear up all of this mess."

She looked back at me blankly. I could feel that something was wrong. The feeling was rising through my body, and I was scared as hell.

"Alex…"

"No, Lillia, just listen, please." I had to tell her it was all a mistake; I had to fix this.

"I never kissed Kynlie while we were dating." I stopped.

"I mean, it was before our second date, but we weren't official yet, and she just came on to me."

She just kept staring back at me. I couldn't read her expression at all.

"I promise, it never happened ever again after that time. And I felt awful kissing her even once."

I finished and looked back at her, trying to find anything in her eyes that would tell me what she was thinking.

"Look, Alex…" She started. "I'm really sorry about this whole misunderstanding. I should have trusted you, and I should have asked you about it before, but you crushed your dependability."

I didn't understand. "Dependability?"

"Yes, Alex, dependability. You've always been there, and you've never abandoned me. If anything, I abandoned you for college. I needed that dependability. Especially now. But I thought it was gone, so I tried to move on, I guess."

"Especially now? What's going on, Lillia?"

*Lillia's POV*

Vi came up behind me and put an arm around me. She knew this was going to be tough for me to tell Alex.

"Well… Alex, about 6 months ago, well… My mum died. And my dad offed himself not too long after."

He looked back at me in shock. Alex had known, and loved, my parents. He had always been close with my dad, and my mom had adored him.

"How… How did this happen?" I could tell he was upset too, and I didn't blame him. It was pure shock for me as well.

"Well, Mum had a heart attack one day. Y'know, we always knew she had heart problems… And then about a week after the grief got to my dad. They were so in love, and I guess he just couldn't handle living without his best friend. But he forgot about me when I needed him most."

The tears began to fall, but Alex's arms were around me as quick as could be. I fell into him and cried as I felt tears of his own on my shoulder too.

He looked up at me. "Lillia, I am so sorry. I am so sorry. For everything. For Kynlie, for not knowing, for not being there."

I looked back into his blood shot brown eyes. "It's okay. And I'm sorry. I never should've done anything, and I never should've doubted that you'd be here."

He kissed me softly on the lips, and I kissed him harder back. And then I remembered Danny.
