AN: I'm back. I know it's been a while, but things were tough, and school was tough. Things are really going well for me, lately, though, and I'm on Christmas break, so I thought I'd get back to writing. I can't promise y'all a date for the next update, but as soon as I find some time I will get it out. Thank you all for the continued support and understanding, and please continue to rate and comment; it really makes my day. Love, Laurel
*Alex's POV*
Lillia jumped out of the car immediately as we pulled up. Vi laughed and I chuckled to myself before getting out and following her through the doors of the theater.
"So, what are we seeing today?" I asked seeing that only three films were actually playing at the theater, which didn't surprise me considering it was the size of a small house.
"Anything! Take your pick!"
I gazed over the selections.
"Trainspotting by Danny Boyle… In the mood to dive into the world of drugs?" She laughed, and I smiled before moving on. If this theater was her bliss, I didn't need to ruin it with that film.
"The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock." She crinkled her nose in disgust.
"I'm afraid of butterflies, Alex… Birds don't really appeal much either." I moved on.
"Well, looks like we're seeing Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid by George Roy." Vi laughed behind us. "Well, you two have fun with the cowboys; I'm going to go have lunch. Never was really into westerns, personally."
We waved her goodbye and bought our tickets before stepping into the theater.
Despite the small feel of the exterior, inside the theater was huge. I could see why she loved this place. Their was probably a grand total of 7 people in the room, all over the age of 50, and classical music played alongside scenes of nature on the big screen instead of the usual previews.
*Lillia's POV*
It was complete peace. Alex and I set side by side amongst the other movie goers in comfortable silence. Alex reached over and slid his fingers through mine as the screen suddenly switched from the previous nature scenes to the opening credits of the film. I squeezed his hand; "I'm excited. I've never seen one of these."
He looked back at me shocked; "Never?"
"No." I laughed. "Have you?"
"Of course!" He replied, obviously excited. "I love westerns. They're classic, and the setting… it's a total different world. The desert, the costumes, the acting… it's all so great." I nodded. It was something he loved wrapped into a place I loved.
"Don't worry." He continued. "You'll love it. This one's funny."
"Okay…" I said nervously.
I wanted to like this movie, since Alex obviously did, but I was worried. I'd never seen a western, and I wasn't sure I was too interested in cowboys with southern accents riding horses and fighting "indians".
But I was willing to give it a shot, for Alex.
*Alex's POV*
The big screen scrolled back up again, and I turned to Lillia.
"So, what'd you think?" She looked back at me with a blank face I couldn't read.
