It's been exactly ten years since yolur beautiful baby twins were born. Although now you can't call them babies anymore.
"Reina! Gray! Get your birthday butts down here now before I make wanda turn your cake into mud!" You yelled up the stairs. Their squeals rang in the air as they raced each other down the stairs.
Grayson, being the taller of the two, made it to you first before Reina crashed into his back making him trip.
"Owww." They grumbled in unison. They picked themselves up off the floor and straightened their clothes.
"You guys are silly." You laughed and ruffled their hair. "Now you know that today is a special occasion for you. Since it's your tenth birthday. But you have to help get ready. Now go help Wanda outside with the decorating." They raced outside. Reina won this time. Her long white-blonde hair flowing behind her as her brother chased her.
Today was special. But not just because it was their birthday. Today was the day that they will finally gain their powers. It takes a while for downworlders powers to show up. They could have your flames, or they could end up just shadowhunters. Either way you would find out today.
It's not going to be a normal party for the twins. Their aunt Clary and uncle Jace would be showing up with some of their friends, to help with the testing of the kids. But other than that it would be just you and Wanda with them throughout the testing. It's a good thing you had been training them because without training they would get very hurt in this process.
You grabbed a box that once held decorations but was now empty, to take up to the attic. You pulled the ladder out of the ceiling and began your acent to the top.
The attic wasn't how you would picture a usual attic. It wasn't dusty at all in fact it was clean and organized. Your parents old things were kept to the back of the attic and the other things that we're for storage stayed off to the side. The only other thing up here was a couch and a lamp.
You placed the box in the pile of other storage boxes and made your way to the couch. You sat down and just began to think of the past, your children's lives, how they came to be.
One day you may not be alive to tell all your children of what happened. So you began to write. Not on paper but in spirit. Your flames flew through the air writing the story of what had happened, from your parents deaths to Jonathan's. And everything in between.
As your energy flowed your hair turned it's blazing white as did your eyes, the flames engulfed you. For the first time in years you truly released your powers and it felt amazing.
So amazing you didn't hear the tiny footsteps that made their way up the attic stairs.
"Mommy..." it was Grayson's strong voice that spoke.
You stood still with your back to the children. Slowly you turned and met their gaze. Reina was Tucked under the arm of her brother in a protective embrace. They had a mixture of confusion and fear in their eyes.
Although you hadn't hidden this world from them you had never shown your true flame demon side. Your flames died and your powers condensed into a small red spark floating in the air.
"I'm sorry babies I was trying to make one of your presents." The red spark floated over to the children. It split in two and each half seemed to disappear into the children's hearts. Their bodies filled with a beautiful warmth and knowledge of their past.
"Oh mommy!" Reina gasped and they both wrapped you into a giant hug. They now understood everything. And they still loved you.
Your little moment was interrupted by the sound of your doorbell. "It seems our guests have arrived." The three of you ran down the stairs and yanked the front door open to find Clary and Jace standing there each with a gift in their arms.
"Auntie Clary!! Jacie!!!" Both the kids squealed and pulled them inside. And the real party began. There was cake and gifts and music for the only meaningful creatures in your life. Your kids.
And at the end of it all the kids got their powers. They both ended up with the flames. Meaning they will be trained and stay with you.
All in all this was a good day. Life will continue on this way until fate decides otherwise.
Alright guys I know the ending sucked but I wanted some sort of closure out for you guys
