It took about an hour to get your stuff together, go get Jonathan from Ramad's place and get on a train.
Then the train took you another 2 hours to get you to a town that was pretty much know the middle of nowhere but people loved to live there anyway. You guys got your bags and got off of the train.
"Alright the house is about ten minutes outside of town." You grabbed your duffle bag and started walking.
"Y/N why are you walking?" He picked up his bag and followed as you laughed in his face.
"Oh Sweetie," You laughter filled the air. "There aren't any cabs in this town. You walk or you get nowhere." You patted his back and you both started walking. After ten minutes you could see the roof of your old house.
No one lives there because the place is in your name. You own it and after you are done in Paris your going to come back here to live.
You ran up to the house and unlocked it. It looked just like you remembered, the furniture had tarps over it all so that they would be protected from dust. You put your bag down at the door and started pulling off all of the tarps.
"What are you doing Y/N?" Jonathan asked as he put down his bag next to yours.
"I want to see it all as it was." You said simply. "Is it okay if we stay her for a while before going to look for the journal?"
"Yes." He kissed your forehead and you hugged him. "We can stay as long as you like."
"Thank you." You turned and pulled the last tarp off of the couch and stepped back. The living room was just as you remembered it. You put the tarps in a closet that was right next to the front door. "Now. Let's see you make that spaghetti of yours."
"Is there even any food in the kitchen?" He raided his eyebrows at you as he followed you into the kitchen.
"Yes there is. I stay here every summer so I make sure to keep food in here." You pulled down some pots, pasta, and the sauce. "Now, prove your spaghetti skills while I take our stuff upstairs." You kissed him on the cheek before going to grab your bags.
Upstairs you walked right passed your parents room without looking back. You have gotten used to looking through their things without showing too much emotion.
Your room looked way different than it did when you were younger. When you were little it was decorated with things you liked and posters of famous people. But now it was simple, there was a king size bed with a fluffy purple comforter on one side. A long dresser with a TV on it, and your window seat had a few thr9w pillows on it but other than that your room wasn't very decorated.
You put your bags on the bed and walked over to your window seat. Your mom would read you stories here when you were little. Well here and under the special tree. Late at night you would get out of your bed and come look at the moon and the fireflies from here. You did your shadowhunter homework here too. You would draw runes her all the time. Around the edges of your window you had carved in every rune that you could think of from the iratze to the opening rune.
Your reminiscing took a few minutes because the sun had moved through the sky to where it was about to set. You got up out of the window seat and walked over to your bag. You had been in this jumper all day and you had to change out of it. You grabbed a big black t-shirt that was way big on you because there comfortable. No judgement necessary.
You also pulled out some leggings because it was gonna be cold tonight and your room never did lock in the heat.
You closed the door to your room and undressed. It was kinda hard getting the leather jumper off but you eventually did it.
"Ugh stupid jumper." You shoved it in your bag rather harshly and pulled on your t-shirt.
"Awww don't cover up I was enjoying the show." You jumped and turned around to see Jonathan standing there looking you up and down.
"Haven't you ever thought of knocking?" He chuckled at this comment of his.
"Not when there is an almost naked girl on the other side of the door." He walked closer and grabbed you by your waist to pull you closer to him.
"I didn't peg you as the type to be a perv Jonny boy." You smirked playfully and wrapped your arms around him. "Are we gonna go eat your famous spaghetti?"
"Trust me the spaghetti can wait." He hungrily pressed his lips to yours and you both collapsed on the bed.

Who knows how much later it was, you woke up cuddled up next to Jonathan and the sun was just about to peek it's head over the horizon.
You got up out of the bed and grabbed your t-shirt up off of the floor and threw it on.
Earlier you said that your room wasn't too decorated but you did have some pictures hanging up on the walls around your room. There was a picture of your mom holding you as a baby. Looking back its hard to imagine ever being that small.
Another picture was you in your first set of Shadowhunter gear. That was also the day you drew your first rune on yourself. Yes, your parents had drawn runes on you but that was the day you got to do it all by yourself.
There was one other picture. It was of you and your childhood best friend. He and his family were the only shadowhunters you knew growing up. You took the picture off of the wall and held it in your hands.
Jonathan wrapped his arms around your waist. And kissed your neck.
"Who's that in the picture?" He mumbled into your neck.
"My old best friend. He moved away a few years before my parents died." You hated that day. That was the last day you saw his family. The last day you hugged him, the last day you saw his jet black hair.
"What was his name?" He asked.
"Sebastian." You sighed. "Sebastian Verlac."
