Canicus.

That is the name of the greater demon that contacted you.

Here's what the book said.

Canicus.

Greater demon with the ability to make and control fire. One of the most deadly demons, and hard to contact.
The few downworlders and shadowhunters that do speak to this greater demon have not summoned him, they have been contacted by him.

It is very dangerous to communicate with this greater demon because everyone that has spoke to him has burnt. Most did not survive.

Not much else is known about Canicus, only that the rest of the information was burnt up many years ago.

His name is Canicus. You have the information you need. Now all you had to do was contact him.

It was about 12:00pm when you discovered this information. Jonathan would be at your apartment soon. You had to do this fast.

You left the book sitting on your table and you went back to your room. Since you were asleep when you last saw this demon you laid down on your bed, in the middle obviously so that you wouldn't fall off.

"Canicus." The bottom part of your amulet began to glow. "Canicus." This time you said it a little louder and more of your amulet lit up. All except the gem. "Canicus!" The last gem on your amulet exploded with light and you were transported back to the place you saw the night before.

You didn't freak out as much as you did before. Your palm had a bright flame in it and you marched confidently down the corridor you saw before.

Once in there you shot the fire balls again. Calling Canicus to you.

"Ahhhhhhh." Canicus stepped out of the darkness around you and his fire lit up the room around you. "It's seems you found out my name quicker than I thought child."

"Yes." You held you head high as your fire released itself from you and created a protective circle around you. "Canicus. The only greater demon with the power to create and control fire. I need answers. And I know you must have some of them."

"It's true, Y/N I have the answers you seek. But you cannot have all of them. If I am to tell you then you would never figure it out on your own. So I will give you one answer. The one you seek most." His voice contained confidence.

"The answer I seek most..." there were many questions that you needed the answers to but one was pressing down in your mind. "How did my parents get your blood in the first place?"

"Oh a simple one." He laughed. "Your mother is the reason you have demon blood inside of you. Not your ... father." He said father in a strange tone but you didn't get any more answers. "I cannot give you anymore answers but I can tell you where the answers lay."

"Please!" You felt the excitement rush through your veins and your fire bounced up with you.

"Your mother had a journal. She kept it from months before you were conceived." His fire made a picture in the air of a thick leather bound book. "The book is hidden at your old house on the country side. But not in the house. It's in your mother's most favorite place."

At this you thought of the old tree you and your mother sat under all the time. There was a swing hanging from a high up branch, you had always wondered how it got there.

"I know just what you speak of." You stood up. "Canicus? How do I get out of this?"

He laughed. "That's the easy part. Goodbye my firechild." And with a flick of his wrist all went black.

You opened your E/C eyes and you were back in your bedroom. Your alarm clock said that it was 2:00pm.

"Didn't feel like I was there for 2 hours." You mumbled to yourself. The curtains in your room were closed so your room was completely dark. You felt your way around in the darkness to your light switch.

Before you could get there though. "Where for 2 hours?" A voice spoke from the opposite side of your room. You flipped the switch on to find Jonathan sitting in your favorite rocking chair.

"Uhhhhh, I don't know what your talking about?" You tried to backtrack but he didn't buy it.

"I just heard you say it Y/N." He looked angry but not that angry where your going to kill someone. "You aren't leaving this room with out telling me."

"Oh yeah? And who's gonna make me stay?" At this you got angry but you forced your fire to stay down.

"You knew. You knew you had demon blood inside of you before Ramad told you. Otherwise you would have been surprised." He had been pacing the other side of the room but he stopped to look at you. "How did you know? And why do you know the name Canicus?"

"How do YOU know that name?" You were surprised to hear it come out of his mouth.

"I studied different types of greater demons when I was going through my training. But you weren't trained like me, so how do you know that name?"

You knew that there was no hiding this from him any longer. You sat on your bed and motioned for him to do the same.

You told him about your dream the first night and every Thing Canicus said that night, then you told him about how you had to borrow Ramad's book to find out his name, and then you told him about summoning him and what he said to you today.

"So the journal is at my family's old house. I have to go out there to get it. It's the only way to find out what my parents did." You looked down at your lap and fiddled with your fingers.

"Well let's go get this journal of your mother's." He stood up and held his hand out to you. You took it and he pulled you up right in front of him.

"I'm sorry I lied." You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him towards you to where your foreheads were touching.

"Y/N, I would have done the same thing if I was in your position." He leaned in and finished off his words with a kiss.

When you finally pulled away you walked over to your closet and pulled out a duffle bag. Jonathan looked at you with curiosity in his eyes.

You smirked and said "Well if we're leaving I have to pack Jonny."
