Chapter 1: Summer Time

Chapter One

Joo Mi and Hye Jeong have been my friends since the 3th grade and we have been closer than ever since then. We all share many similarities and we learn from each other's differences. The simplest way to put things were that we were all practically sisters now.

Despite the bond I share with them I sometimes feel insecure around them because they are so thin and beautiful. I wouldn't necessarily recall myself as being fat but I would like to be thinner and I wouldn't call myself ugly despite the faded acne scars that momentarily stained my face that I found to be "ugly".

Out of the three of us I would say that Joo Mi seems to live a perfect, a rather comfortable life. She comes from a really well off family that treat her well while Hye Jeong and I, well... sadly come from a broken family. I never thought that this fact would ever interfere with our friendship. Never...

The sun was warm... actually a bit too warm. Summer was finally here and so the three of us (Joo Mi, Hye Jeong, and I) got to hang out more often. During the summer time was when the three of us would volunteer at a summer camp for preschool kids, which lasted for a week.

Joo Mi: My mom said that we'll be at your house to pick you and your brother up at hm... about 8:30 tomorrow. Sounds good?

Me: Yupp!! Sounds good! Tell your mom that i said thanks! See ya tomorrow with Hye Jeong!

The next morning I woke up at 8 am and i woke up my younger brother Kwang Joo.

Me: Heyyy Kwang Joo! Wake up! Moon Ji Eemoh (Joo Mi's Mom) is going to pick us up soon!

Kwang Joo: hmmmm ohhh mmmmm k...

Kwang Joo didn't get up so I jumped on the bed bouncing it.

Me: Come on buddy!!! You dont want to be late!! Don't you want to meet your bud Tae Yong (Joo Mi's little brother) come on!!

Kwang Joo woke up so I went to the bathroom to wash up. I then went to my room and got out a simple navy blue loose shirt with some denim shorts and changed. I packed my bag and headed down stairs to eat breakfast.

My phone rang and it was Joo Mi as I assumed. I hurried up and put on my shoes and yelled to my mom who was upstairs.

Me: Umma! kan-da! (Mom I'm leaving) byee!!!

Mom: Arrasso! Jal-ka! (Okay! Leave well)
