Chapter 4: A Shoulder To Cry On

Chapter Four

The rest of the days went by quickly, it was already the last day of summer camp. I was a bit sad that I wouldn't see the kids nor Baek Hyun every day. I can't say that I have feelings for Baek Hyun because I'm pretty sure that he only thinks of me as a friend. I still try not show my feelings around him.

Today for the games, the kids were to throw water balloons in a bucket. I heard that after the classes and activities are over the teachers are going to let the TAs have a water balloon fight. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Since the activities were taken place outside, it was kind of hot. The snack of the day were popsicles which helped a little bit. I had to unwrap the popsicles for the kids and I had to make sure that they didn't get their clothes dirty. The TAs were handed popsicles too, I got a white one and Baek Hyun got a pink one.

Baek Hyun: Jenny-ah~ trade with me!

Me: hah why? I thought you liked pink!

Baek Hyun: The white one tastes better!

Me: Ohhh really???

Baek Hyun: Yuppp

Me: that sucks for you then! Ahaha Merong!

I teased him

Baek Hyun: Hmm pweeaseeee! Han-eeb-man (just one bite)

Me: Haha Arrasso (alright) ~ Han-eeb-man (just one bite)

Baek Hyun: Yay!

I noticed that he took a big bite but before that I knew that we had an indirect kiss. My face turned bright red.

Baek Hyun: Wooahh your face is like a reddd like a tomato! Haha is it because we just kissed?

Me: YAH! Ani-yah (it's not)

Baek Hyun: I think it is! Haha! Aww Jenny you little tomato!

He placed both of his hands on the sides of my cheek and was teasing me. I was so embarrassed as he was looking at me straight in the eyes. I felt my heart thumping like crazyyy.

Me: Y-yah... I-I'm not a tomato...

I pulled his hands off of my face and looked down, embarrassed.

Baek Hyun: Oh... Don't be upset I was kidding heh...

I tried to hide my feelings as I calmed down.

Me: hah yeah I know I'm not upset don't worry.

I let out a small fake laugh as if he were really joking without hurting me.

Soon the kids started leaving.

*I'll miss them... I think that I might want to be a preschool teacher when I grow up. But then again I kinda want to be a pastry chef or a musician.*

I was in deep thought until I heard Joo Mi calling me from the opposite of the hallway I was standing in.

Joo Mi: Jenny! Lets go out to have a water balloon fight!

Me: Okay! Lets go!

We reached to the back of the school where there were hoses and water balloons piled up in a bucket. I saw the girl TAs on one side and the guy TAs on the other side. I saw Baek Hyun and D.O. together aiming for Joo Mi, Hye Jeong and me. Once the main teacher blew the whistle I grabbed as many water balloons I could and I ran towards Baek Hyun popped one of the balloons on his head. He was quite surprised it was sooo funny. He then grabbed my waist as gave me a wet hug.

Baek Hyun: Haha I need to thank you for getting me wet right?

Me: Ummm you don't have to thank me you know.

Baek Hyun: Haha why do you feel uncomfortable around me? Do I make you heart go crazy? Hahah.

He actually does make me uncomfortable and he does make my heart go crazy. It hurts that he was joking with me like that but I still loved the moment he held me in his arms.

Me: Yes you do make me uncomfortable.

I took his hands off me and popped another balloon at him.

Me: You make my heart go soooo crazy that I want to drown you in water balloons.

I laughed off the pain and ran off and found D.O.

I sneaked up on D.O. but before I could hit him with a balloon, he popped a balloon right in my face.

Me: YAH!! Come here! You're dead KYUNG SOO!!

I ran after him and threw several balloons at him. He grabbed my wrist so that I couldn't throw anymore. He was too strong so I couldn't get him that wet. I realized that was wasn't throwing the balloons at him while laughing, having fun but I was crying.

D.O.: What's wrong Jenny? Why are you crying? Sorry if I hit you too hard.

Me: It's not that... (Sniff) it just that...

I saw Baek Hyun coming towards us so I ran off into the school. I could hear someone following me, chasing me.

*please Baek Hyun don't run after me*

Someone grabbed my arm, it was thankfully Kyung Soo.

D.O.: Tell me why you're sad, why you ran away from Baek Hyun. I'll listen and be there for you. Ill lend you a shoulder if you want?

Me: D.O. Go-mah-woh (Thanks)

For the first time, I had a shoulder to cry on. I usually cried alone in my room, I have never had comfort from someone. Thanks Kyung Soo-ah.
