Chapter 9: Movie Date?

Chapter Nine

(DING DING)

My phone rang, I got a message. I woke up and sat up on my bed. It was a text from Joo Mi.

[Joo Mi: Hey Jenny lets go to the movies today! We were going to watching Catching Fire remember?]

[Me: Ohhh yeah! Sounds good!! What time? Can my brother come?]

[Joo Mi: We're watching the 2:30pm show. My mom said she'll pick you guys up. She'll drop your brother off at my house so that he could play with Tae Yong.]

[Me: Okay sounds good! Tell you mom I said THANK YOU SO MUCH. Hahah.]

[Joo Mi: K see you soon~]

*I should text D.O. if he's doing anything today...*

I started texting D.O. it was 10am so I assumed that he would be awake.

[Me: Hey you doing anything today?]

[D.O.: Nah just chilling with Baek Hyun... why?]

[Me: Joo Mi and I are going to watch a movie... you wanna tag along?]

[D.O.: Hmm Sure!! What movie at what time?]

[Me: Catching Fire at 2:30]

[D.O.: Okay, I'll bring Baek Hyun for youuu~]

[Me: -___- you don't have to... you shoudnt....]

[D.O.: Haha why not? He said that he thinks that you like him... Is this true?]

[Me: .... Before I cancel our plan you should probably stop...]

[D.O.: Okay okay!! I was kidding!! Seeya!]

It was about 1:30ish and Joo Mi would be here at 2:10 so I started to get ready. I wore a grey t-shirt with sail boats on them with a navy cardigan over it with a pair of Hollister shorts. I told Kwang Joo to get ready also. I packed my bag with some water and snacks. I heard a honk from outside so I ran downstairs and put on my white sneakers.

Me: KWANG JOO they're here!!

Kwang Joo came out of the bathroom and hurried down the stairs. We headed out the house and walked towards Joo Mi's car.

Me: Eemoh! Ahn-young-ha-seh- yo! Hey Joo Mi!

Joo Mi: My mom's coming to watch the movie too.

Me: Ohhh I see... Joo Mi ah~ would you be mad if I perhaps invited someone to the movies with us...?

Joo Mi: Well maybe... Why who did you invite??

Me: I might have invited D.O and Baek Hyun... .__.

Joo Mi: JENNY! Why did you invite them??

Me: I thought it would be fun...? Sorry...

Moon Ji Eemoh: Ooh!! Kyung Soo is coming too?!!?? Good Idea Jenny!!

Joo Mi: Jenny... you can't just invite people! It's not right! Plus my mom's coming too!

Joo Mi pouted.

Me: Sorry... should I cancel it?

Joo Mi: It too late now! Just make sure that I don't sit with D.O. or else it'll be awkward. Okay?

Me: Arrasso... •___•

I didn't think that Joo Mi would be so angry at me for inviting the boys.

We dropped off Kwang Joo and soon arrived at the theater and met D.O. and Baek Hyun.

I saw them and waved, signaling them to come over.

Moon Ji Eemoh: Oh! Ahn-young boys!!

The boys replied: Ahn-young-ha-seh-yo!

After greeting one another we went into the theater. Baek Hyun sat all the way to the right side and D.O. sat next to him. I sat next to D.O. and Joo Mi was on my left. Moon Ji Eemoh sat a row in front of Joo Mi.

The movie didn't start right away but instead there were many commercials. I was talking to Joo Mi quietly unlike the boys.

D.O.: WOOAAH dudeee! Reallly!?

Baek Hyun: Yeah man! It was so INTENSE!!

Moon Ji Eemoh turned around and stared at the guys but they didn't see her.

Moon Ji Eemon: Ey! Guys! You guys are sooo loud!!

D.O.: Sorry Eemoh!

Moon Ji Eemoh: Jenny-ah switch seats with D.O.! The guys are too loud!

Me: Oh.... Uhh... Ne...

Joo Mi glanced at me but didn't say anything...

Me: Sorry... Mi-ahn~

I whispered

I settled down in between the two guys.

Me: Hah Hi Baek Hyun.

Baek Hyun: Hi! Hey look!!

I turned my head towards Joo Mi and D.O. they seemed quite fond of each other. They were giggling making jokes. I then turned back at Baek Hyun. He looked a bit uncomfortable.

Me: Well I guess my plan's work haha...

Baek Hyun: they like each other right? That's why I came too! To help D.O. out...

Me: Hah yeah I know.

I knew that I couldn't think of this as a double date because Baek Hyun and I didn't share the same feelings.

We were all quietly watching the movie until things got really awkward when we saw Katniss and Peeta kissing. Before I saw the scene any longer, Baek Hyun covered my eyes.

Baek Hyun: You're too young to watch this stuff!

Me: Hah... NO I'm not that young!

I took his hands off of my eyes but I blushed a lot seeing the kiss scene. I felt uneasy and uncomfortable. Baek Hyun saw my face expression and once again covered my eyes until the scene was over.

Before knowing it, over 2 hours went by watching the movie. I headed over to the bathroom with Joo Mi.

Me: Sorry if you didn't like sitting with D.O.... I just moved because your mo-

Joo Mi: No its okay. I actually didn't hate it. It was okay.

Me: Well in that case, that's good.

The five of us including Eemoh went to a nearby ice cream shop for a small treat. I got a strawberry vanilla ice cream which was my fave.

D.O.: You like strawberry vanilla too?

I turned around to see who was speaking. I saw D.O. and replied back.

Me: Haha yesss sirrie! It's my favorite!

D.O. and I both got the same ice cream and Baek Hyun and Joo Mi got the same kind also... something seemed a bit off but no one thought of the fact as a big deal. We were all quietly eating our ice cream until Moon Ji Eemoh started talk aloud.

Moon Ji Eemoh: I was thinking that we should go to lotte land all together! What do you guys think?

Me: I think it'll be fun!

D.O.: Sounds like a good idea! The four of us would have a great time!

Joo Mi: It doesn't sound bad at all...

Baek Hyun: I love it! We should go!

Moon Ji Eemoh: Okay I'll buy the tickets online for Friday. You guys have to meet up at 9am at our house and we'll drive there.

I thought that it would be a great time for D.O. and Joo Mi to bond... but as for me and Baek Hyun... I guess we were there to just tag along.
