A/N: I dedicated this chapter to @forbiddenphoenix33 because she is always enthusiastic about my chapters. Always saying what I did that she liked and she's been a very dedicated fan, she's always voting too! I think one of the reasons I'm getting these chapters out so fast is her. Thank you!! <3

When I got home, I planned on going straight to my room, I was in no mood to be bothered. Unfortunately, my dear mother, decided otherwise. I walked in and when she saw me she hopped up from her chair in the living room.

"Happy seventeenth, baby girl!" She yells, grabbing me in a big hug, and I awkwardly hug her back. "I know I already said it on your birthday, but you left so fast with Bryant we didn't have the chance to celebrate."

My mom is a very cheerful person and I love her for it. On my saddest days, she can always make me laugh. She has a smile that never ends and short, black, curly hair that frames her face.

"So, I've been waiting for you to come home so you can open the presents we got you. I wanted to make up for saying no to a party. I'm sorry we said no, it's just teenagers these days are capable of anything and we didn't want the house to be destroyed. Oh, I'm so excited for you to open these," my mom babbles on as we walk into the living room where a ton of presents lay.

My mom always said she doesn't care how old someone is, you are never too old to get a boat load of presents. Who am I to disagree with that? I'm fine as long as it doesn't hurt her or dad financially.

I sit down on the couch, and she hands me a big pink wrapped box. I open it, and it's a brand-new bed set. I read the title and burst with happiness. The comforter is glow in the dark! I know it seems childish, but I'm in love with glow in the dark things.

"Thanks mom," I say, reaching over and giving her a hug.

I move the package aside, and she hands me another one. I end up with everything that I've been asking for. Clothes, a laptop and a mini-fridge. Don't judge, I love food so much that I want to be able to keep it in my room.

My mom helps me bring my stuff up to my room. I could easily do it myself, but things would look weird...she'd probably think I was on steroids or something. I wonder if I'm allowed to tell my parents about my powers? It's probably best I keep it to myself for now, until I know for sure. After I'm situated in my room, I hop on my bed, pull out a book and start reading where I last left off.

I must've fallen asleep reading because I wake up to my dad saying happy birthday to me again. My dad is just like my mom, overly cheery. It looks weird on him though because he looks like a tough, scary guy. My dad has straight brown hair and is built like a wrestler. He even intimidated Bryant when he first met him. It was so funny to see Bryant scared like that. He's very nice and funny, but what he says goes, I've never questioned him.

"Come on, we're having pizza and wings for dinner, then some cake, better hurry up and get down there before I eat it all." My dad says, ruffling my hair obnoxiously, then bounding out the door and down the stairs.

I hop out of bed and realize just how hungry I am. I feel like I could eat an elephant. What? Not everybody likes cows.

I run down the stairs, and the hypnotizing smell of pizza entrances me. I gobble down half the pizza and wings. Then two pieces of cake, and lastly, burp like a wild animal beast thing.

"Honey," my mom asks my dad. "Are you sure we didn't take the wrong baby? I think we might've taken one of the ones from the monster infirmary."

"You know what? That's a possibility with the beastly noise she just made while swallowing that cake whole." My dad chuckles and burps.
