Bryant
I look at Tes bunched up at the end of the couch and think I might've been too hard on her. Her hair is blocking her face, so I have no way of telling if she's crying or not. She's most likely not. She doesn't like to let anyone see her cry.I'm not in the best mood either. My sister is gone, probably upset that she hurt me and that Tes knocked her out. I made Tes promise she would try to get along with Scar, and as far as I'm concerned, that was the worst attempt. I can feel how overwhelmed and miserable she is. Maybe I should apologize? I just wish that Tes could be mature for more than two-seconds. I would appreciate if I didn't have to keep stopping fights between the people I love the most.
Oh, wow, that must have been how Tes felt when Skigh and I fought. I should most definitely apologize. "Tes I-"
"I want to go home Bryant...now. We can train next weekend or something. I want to go home. You can't force me to stay here." Tes still won't look at me. She's right, I can't. I shouldn't have made her train this weekend anyway. Tes needs time to take this all in, I don't know what I was thinking. I feel anger edge it's way in to Tes's mix of emotion, great, now she's pissed at me.
I feel horrible. I need to have more patience with her. I'm a crappy person.
"Are you sure? We don't have to train. We can go see the mer-people and the fairies or whatever you want," I plead.
I just want her to stay, be happy in my world. I know she promised to take on her role as queen, but what if she goes back on it? What if she refuses to never come here again? No, Tes isn't like that. She wouldn't go back on a promise like that.
"Not today Bryant, but thanks anyway, " she says solemnly.
"Well, I'll teach you how to open a portal. I don't want you feel trapped here. If you learn how to open a portal, then you can leave whenever you please." Tes nods and waits expectantly.
"Ok, so, to open a portal you must first concentrate. Over time less concentration is needed, but he first few times you will need a lot."
"Okay."
"Second, you can only open portals to places you've been before. Third, you picture where you want to go in your head and wave your hand in the air in front of you."
Tes stands up. "Alright, I think I got it." She closes her eyes and waves her hand in front of her, but nothing happens.
"Take deep breathes and concentrate," I whisper from behind her. Her breath catches.
"Can you move away? I can't concentrate with you so close." I smirk and take a couple of steps away. Tes closes her eyes again.
Waving her hand in front of her she succeeds in opening her portal. Tes jumps through it without bothering to say goodbye, nice.
I sit back on the couch and put my feet on the coffee table. I wish they could just get along or at least pretend. I'd like not to think about it, but one of them is eventually going to kill the other if they don't stop. Scar has a temper and I don't think Tes is in control of her feelings or powers. Scar would be fine with killing Tes, but Tes would be ruined if she killed someone. She cried for days after she accidentally killed her fish by not conditioning the water after cleaning it.
Someone walks in my front door. I wonder who that is, I wasn't expecting any visitors.
"Hey cuzzo!" Shoot! I forgot he was coming. This is not good. I am not ready for this, Tes and Scar diminished any patience I had left.
