Bryant
Before we even reach the house, I can feel them. There's already a gathering going on. The thick tension in the air tells me it's not good.
Inside the living room are Grandma, Ron, Scar, Seelina and Gordon. There's another man next to Gordon who I assume to be Dextor Watkins of the Resial realm. His long, pearl-white hair is tied back into a ponytail and his steel-gray eyes follow me across the room curiously.
"What's going on?" I ask.
Scar answers, "Grandma had a vision about an hour ago, but you already know what she saw; Tylia has already told you, correct?"
I nod. "The war will be here in two days...Our fate will be decided in just two days."
Grandma nods solemnly, Scar remains impassive and Ron looks scared. To be honest, I'm scared. I keep thinking of Sadie's other vision and how it's going to happen. I want to tell Tes, but I know it will do more harm than good. I am just hanging on the chance of it not coming true. Tes and I deserve to live out long lives with each other. I love her so much...
"There will be no training tomorrow, everyone needs to save their strength. The battle will take place at the edges of our barriers; that is where Sadie has foreseen it," Seelina says, taking the floor. "Our numbers are inconceivable and so are theirs. We cannot win by killing them all."
"We have to kill their leaders," Tes finishes. "But they know that and they won't let any threat near them."
"Chance is the main objective and he'll be gunning for you, our strongest will stay by you to help kill him. When that happens, Chance's people will be weak and the Crysallines will most likely flee. Any resistance from the Enderans should be easy to deal with at that point." Seelina's face is set in a frown, battle strategies are probably flying through her mind.
"Chance is strong and he will play dirty...You, Bryant, Ron and Scar will be going against him. We will have a group of people protecting you guys from outside attacks, but you'll be taking on Chance by yourselves." Seelina's frown deepens.
"You all are the heart of Altearis, the most powerful. Try to stay alive and if you cannot do that, make sure Tes does. I wish it did not have to be this way, but Chance would quickly destroy anyone else who dared to take him on," Seelina explains.
"Chance is nothing. He attacks when there is no one around, he's a coward," I grumble loudly.
"Do not underestimate him!" Sadie snaps. "One doubt could lead to one of your deaths."
"Grandma, I will not underestimate him, but do not underestimate me either," I say with a twinge of hurt in my voice, which is irrational because given what she knows, she has every right to be worried. It's just the thought of Chance hurting any one of us again is maddening.
"Two days from now, we will meet on the battlefield. I'll be here to open the portal for us. Until then..." Seelina looks around at all of us, lingering on each set of eyes. "Be happy and safe."
I watch her walk out of the room and I hear her run out into the night. I could've sworn that I saw her shaking before she disappeared out of sight. And if so, I'm glad she left. Seelina is strong, I have always seen her as strong. If she would have broken down, I think I would have too. Maybe we all would have.
"Hi, my name is Tes Elliot and this is Bryant Peters." Tes holds out her hand to Dextor. He takes it and places a quick kiss on her hand. I go to shake his hand, but he does the same. I try not to snatch my hand back, I don't want to offend his customs just because they are different than mine.
