Patrick is a nice, warm hearted guy. He has always been and always will be. He puts others before himself, no matter who they are, and he is in no way selfish. Patrick risks his whole life for his country, after all. He used to be a lot more open then he is now because being in the army has impacted his life greatly. It has changed him and he's seen so many things. He's more reserved now and doesn't talk as much. Patrick is still a caring man, even if he's a tad more isolated. He's defensive of his family and won't let anyone disrespect them, when he's around that is. He's smart and a natural born leader, as well as a guy who has a lot of guts and a lot of courage. He won't back down from anything and does whatever he's told to do. Patrick is respectful and gentle. He doesn't have much of a temper; he's usually a very calm and down to earth person. He does have a cold side to him, though. If you're disrespectful or disobedient and don't listen, he won't be afraid to put you in place. He's serious when it comes to his job but apart from that he's fun to be around.

Patrick likes Peter, you, serving in the army, the army, respect, taking care of his family when he gets the chance, being around you, helping out others, getting the chance to do something for his country, America, and chocolate. Patrick dislikes being away from you and Peter for so long, not getting the chance to help his family, disrespectful or ignorant people, having to watch his friends getting killed, and the food he's served at the base.

Patrick was your high school sweetheart. He took you to prom and took your virginity. The two of you had been dating for three years before he decided to ask you to marry him. Of course you agreed. You loved him. Why wouldn't you say yes? The two of you got married and soon you had your own house together. A year after your marriage, you adopted a little boy named Peter. You and Patrick both tried your hardest to be the best fathers you could be for Peter. One day Patrick decided to join the army but first he had to go through training camp. He sadly had to leave you and Peter for training. And once he was done with his training, Patrick was deployed to Afghanistan. You haven't seen him since and you've had to take care of Peter all by yourself. You miss him dearly.

You work in an office. You're a businessman. Ever since Patrick left, you've been extremely cold and serious towards everyone except your son, Peter, whom you love very much. Life without your husband is always hard, though. You have to work late sometimes so Patrick's sister, Emily, has to watch Peter. That always upsets you. You feel bad because sometimes your son doesn't get to see either of his father's. You are proud of Patrick though. You're lucky to have someone as good as him. You just... really miss him. It's been almost two years since you've seen Patrick face to face rather than through video chat that's always lagging.

One day, though, something special happened. Your husband and your boss had been planning a surprise of sorts behind your back and you had no idea. You were clueless. You dropped Peter off at school on Veteran's day and then headed to work dressed up in a suit like usual. You worked for an hour or so before you had to go to a board meeting with the other people you worked with. The meeting went on and on while your boss talked and talked but you could hardly concentrate. As you looked around at all the other men and women dressed in suits and other fancy clothes, you couldn't help but think about your husband. It was Veteran's day and you wanted to see him. Well, soon there was a knock on the door to the meeting room. You noticed your boss smiling. He never smiled, not unless he knew something you didn't. "Come in!" Your boss called. The person behind the door opened it. You almost fell out of your seat when you saw who it was. Patrick was standing in the doorway dressed in cameo with a single red rose in his hand....
