Loëk's P.O.V

"Prince Loëk? Prince Loëk? I'm sorry sir, but it's time for you to wake." A butler's voice cut into my sleep. I growl and turn to the other side. "Sir? Please wake up." He said again. I growl, cover my eyes with my right arm, and say: "Stop with your "pleases" it's pathetic. Just get out of my room, and I'll get up on my own." The butler didn't say anything and left. I lay there, unmoving. I hate it when they make me wake up at five a.m on a Saturday. "You should not have been so rude." My wolf, Ice, said. "Shut it, Ice." I growl at him. "You've already growled at the butler, are you seriously going to growl at me?" "Shut up." "You've already said that too." I growl once more, and get up. My room was large, with a king sized bed, a large embroidered red carpet, a huge bookcase, a wardrobe, chandelier, and a balcony. Now that I thought about what Ice had said, I was feeling guilty about snapping at the butler. I'll just apologize later. I walked over to my wardrobe and changed into my usual clothes. A white undershirt, dark purple vest, white jacket, white pants, and black boots. As always I wore my silver engraved cross. I never took it off. I looked at the mirror that was hanging over a small table next to the wardrobe. I hade icy white-blue hair, aqua colored eyes, and skin so pale it almost looked like I was a ghost. I was well built, hours of training tend to do that. I looked at my reflection, and my reflection looked back. I jerk my head away, not wanting to see myself anymore. I've seen enough of myself. Turning sharply, I walked too the balcony door and walked out onto it. It was still dark since it was probably still only five. The night was cool, and gust of freezing air blew my hair. I didn't mind, the cold. I actually preferred it. Lately, ever since the selection had been announced and the girls selected, I've been feeling odd. Now, today was the day of the selection. The day I could possibly meet her. Ice paced anxiously, whining. I know exactly how he felt. He wanted her. He wanted our mate. Ever since I turned seventeen, my desire for my mate had become even stronger. Of course once I learned about mates at the age of fifteen I've wanted one. The one person in the entire world who knows you better then anyone else? Someone who cares about you no matter what? The person that completes you? Of course I want to meet her. I want to meet my soulmate. But it's so damn hard. I don't know the first thing about her, but I want her desperately. I don't know what she looks like, what her personality was, Hell, I don't even know her name. But I want her. I know that when I find her, I'll know. It's hard waiting for her though. Hopefully she'll be in the selection. I don't know how much longer I can wait.

"Loëk! Dude, you listening?" My younger brother, Levi asked me. I was at the breakfast table with my family. It was six-thirty now. Everyone was awake because of the selection. Levi had been asking me about something, but I spaced out. "No, I wasn't listening. What did you say?" I ask. He sighed. Levi was fourteen years old, and looked like me except, he was shorter, not as pale, and had blonde hair instead of white. Today he wore a blue button up shirt, black pants, and brown knee high boots. "I was asking you if you think your mate will be in the selection." He said, cutting up a piece of ham. "Well I certainly hope so!" Mother cut in. "It'd be such a waste if we arranged all of this and it turns out she's not there!" Mother had the same icy blue hair I did, with pale skin and green eyes. She wore a gown the color of plums, and a gold necklace. I sigh and pick at my food. "I agree." I mumbled. "Sit up, dear. You look very depressing when your all slouchy like that." I immediately sit up. "And do you have to wear those clothes? She asked, disapprovingly. Honestly, can't you wear a suit?" "Oh leave the boy alone, Grace!" Father said, laughing. He was a buff man with aqua eyes, blonde hair, and tanned skin. He wore a suit, but the tie was undone so it looked like he had gotten lazy and just didn't tie it. "But Conner, he could possibly meet his mate today! Mother argued. He must look respectable!" "

"Grace my love, if his mate is indeed in the selection then I'm sure she wouldn't care what kind of clothes he was wearing. Heck, he could show up in nothing but his underwear, for all she'd care!" He exclaimed. Right at this time I had taken a drink of water and promptly spit it out when I heard him. "Conner!!" Mother scolded. "How could you say something as inappropriate as that?" "What? I was just joking, dear. And besides its not like she'll never see him"- "CONNER!!" Mother shouted, thankfully interrupting him. We may be royalty, but we're still a family. And it is a mother's and father's job to say awkward and uncomfortable things to embarrass their children. It is also the children's job to try not to die of embarrassment from their parents. So far I had lived through seventeen years of not dying. I can only hope that I'll be able to survive until I take the throne. Even then, if my mate hears some of the baby stories my mother tells about me, I might just kill myself. Ice had heard the conversation and was now wondering if he could actually get me to show up in my underwear at the selection. No way in hell, Ice. I swiftly tell him. But it's just our mate! He countered. Yeah, and forty-nine other girls. He shut up after this comment. I sigh and go back to eating/picking at my food. Levi, done eating, began tapping on his water glass with a fork. The noise echoed through the room. Levi hadn't had the talk about mates yet, so aside from knowing that a mate was important, he was blissfully ignorant. After a few more minutes I excuse myself from the table and go too the studying hall. My tutor had arranged for me to take some tests on mathematics, literature, and history, today and I would like to hurry up and get it over with.
