four. he has tried to mention phil four times, and pj has somehow talked him away from it every single time. pj knows what he's doing, and he knows that he is so close to achieve what he has been trying to do the whole night, to make them meet.

for pj, them to meet is extremely important, actually. but, as phil is the chicken he is, that won't happen in the next 5, well, years. pj knows he shouldn't mix himself into the situation, but how can he not when this is the best moment to do actually that?

it has been way too long, two years are two years more than it should of have been since they have met and talked. phil has been different, extremely different. yes, he had to move away from all family he had because of how homophobic they were, but that isn't the reason.

pj knows it's because of how after phil left dan behind, dan had already gotten to take a part of him, and that put huge mental scars on phil, which pj had to witness ripping phil apart more and more by every single day that passed. they say time can heal everything, but in this situation, it just made more damage.

"i think i'm just going home, pj. i really need to sleep, i'm going away tomorrow and-"

"no, please, stay!"

dan furrows his brows together in confusion, not getting why pj would actually want him to stay this bad. is it something behind all this that he hasn't picked up on, is he actually that stupid? he believed pj wanted to talk about phil, but obviously not, so why is it so important for him to stay?

"i don't have a reason to stay, pj. if you don't give me one in like, 5 seconds, i'll literally just walk aw-"

and pj gives him a reason, a stupid one to say at least, but it is a reason. dan doesn't react, how is he supposed to? dan can feel that pj isn't putting anything into it, and the only thing dan can think about is, why? if he doesn't want him, why would he do it?

but when dan hears the gasp, the way too familiar gasp from a person he used to love, everything started to make sense. he now understands why pj wanted him to stay, why he didn't talk about phil and why he dragged the time out as much as possible. but, was it for the best? because right now,

they are kissing,

and, phil is watching them do so.
