Previous: "Derek will know", Jess said.

Frankly, she had no idea why she had said it at all. She had no idea what Peter was going to do to her but she knew he was dangerous. She also knew that she at least meant something to Derek.

She winced as Peter threw his head back and laughed sharply.

"That's the point, dear"

Terrified was not a strong enough word to describe how Jess felt. She shivered as his voice sliced through her and sent chills down her spine.

She watched his face in horror as hair started to come out of his face. His face started to elongate and wolf like teeth formed from his human ones.

Before Jess even knew what she was doing, her feet moved towards the door on the other side of the coffee shop. Her heart clenched as she felt the handle of the door in her grasp. In a quick moment, the door handle was gone and she hit the front of her body on the floor hard.

She twisted to see Peter's mutated face looking down at her. He flipped her over which produced a fire inside of Jess.

This was it. She needed to fight for her life.

Jess retracted her legs and lifted up until they were at his chest and pushed him off of her.

Peter grunted as he fell backwards.

Jess flipped back over and pushed up onto her hands and knees. As soon as she did Peter's hand grabbed her leg. Jess started to scream as she was flipped over again and immense pressure was applied to her leg. Her scream climaxed as a snap rang through the coffee shop.

Jess instantly knew it was broken. The pain was almost unbearable. She lied helplessly on the floor and screamed as she clung to her leg.

As Jess screamed, Peter looked down at her somewhat amused.

"You have some fight. I knew you would make a good Luna", Peter said before he lifted his hand and his finger nails started to grown out into claws.

Jess closed her eyes and prayed for it to be a quick death and she hopped that Derek wouldn't be devastated.

As Peter reached back with his hand to strike her, a gut-wrenching growl echoed through the coffee shop.

Jess looked over just in time to see Derek at the door.

At least Jess thought it was Derek. This guy had glowing blue eyes and large canines that protruded from his mouth. His eyes flickered to Jess and she felt the same over-whelming feeling she always felt when he looked at her. It was definitely Derek.

She sighed, at least Derek would be able to kill this SOB when she died.

That was Jess's last thought before Peter's hand came down and sliced her chest open.
