Love bites- Derek Hale

Everyone Hates Kate| Part 3

Previous: Scott's eyes glowed, "It's the alpha".

Jess felt a surge of energy and she pushed up and crouched down in a predatory way looking towards the door. Peter. He was here and Jess was no longer the weak girl he had attacked in the cafe. 

Jess looked quickly over to her left and Derek was sitting up, looking around dazed. 

Derek's eyes scanned the opened door of the Hale house and then quickly found Jess's eyes. He looked over her in a panic but she seemed to be okay. She looked better than okay. She looked incredibly strong and sexy crouched down ready to attack. Her head was turned to Derek and her eyes seemed to soften as they looked at him. He almost smiled. 

A sharp breeze flew by them Scott went flying, followed by Chris. Derek watched as Kate disappeared from the scene and the door to the Hale house shut loudly. Jess watched the scene unfold as Allison scurried back to her feet and flew inside the house. 

Derek quickly jumped up to his feet as if he hadn't been hit by a bullet a few minutes ago and joined Jess. 

"Are you okay?" He asked quickly, looking at the front door of the Hale house as Scott regained his composure and bursted in. 

"It's Peter", she growled lowly and her eyes flashed red for a brief moment. 

She turned and moved determined towards the Hale house but Derek was stuck in his place. Her eyes were red. He had never seen that before, except with an Alpha. Why had her eyes been red? 

Before Jess could get to the front door of the house the door flew open revealing Scott and Allison running out. 

"Run!" Scott yelled. 

Before she could respond, Peter, or the giant wolf hybrid that had become Peter marched through the door and swung his arm directly into Jess's chest. She flew back 10 feet before slamming her back into a large tree and falling to the ground. 

As Jess struggled to breath on the ground, two young teenagers had arrived to the scene. Jess didn't have a clue as to who they were but Derek sure did. Derek joined Jess's side and picked her up, setting her down farther away from the fighting. 

He watched as Stiles pulled out a medium size bottle and chuck it at Peter. Peter caught it easily but Scott called out to Allison and threw her the crossbow that laid on the ground next to him. Allison didn't miss a beat and loaded her crossbow, taking aim at the bottle in Peter's hand. She shot it right on target and it exploded in fire, igniting Peter's whole right side. 

Jackson quickly threw the other at Peter, sending his whole body up in flames. Jess and Derek watched as Peter stumbled around in his burnt body before falling in a heap on the ground. Derek helped Jess stand and looked back at her. 

"I'm fine, take care of this", She said grabbing his arm and giving it a squeeze. 

Derek nodded and walked past Allison and Scott having another one of their "Im 16 and in love" moments. 

Jess watched Allison hold Scott lovingly and tenderly before kissing him passionately. She felt her heart sink and immediately looked away. That was something she didn't think she would ever have. She was a werewolf now. She was dangerous and she wouldn't ever put someone in danger like that. She watched Derek make his way to Peter's burnt body and knelt down beside him. For a split second she thought about how her and Derek could be something but instantly put it out of her mind. She wasn't sure she wanted that anymore. 

Jess creeped closer to Derek and Peter and so did Scott. She was close enough to see that Peter was still alive...barely. She watched as Derek's fingernails grew out long like claws and she clenched her jaw. Was it wrong that she felt relieved in the fact that Peter was going to die? Her heart pounded so loudly she could hear it in her ears. 

"Wait!" Scott yelled from close behind Jess, "You said the cure comes from the one that bit you". 

Jess whipped around and looked at Scott. She could be human again? Was that what he was saying? 

"Derek if you do this, I'm dead. Her father, her family-what am I supposed to do?" Scott pleaded. 

Derek's claw stayed long and his heart beat stayed incredibly slow. Jess was suddenly desperate as well. She honestly didn't want to live with this curse. She wanted to have a chance at a normal, happy life. She wanted to get married and have babies and live in a cute little house with a white picket fence. She took a step forward and whispered his name. Derek's head tilted slightly towards her but she still couldn't see his eyes. 

"I could be human again?" Jess asked her voice coming out much smaller than expected. 

Derek didn't answer but his attention and head shifted back to Peter. 

"Derek, Please. Don't. I don't want this. I want to be human again", Jess said as tears rolled down her eyes. 

Derek shook his head and without turning to her whispered something that sent a chill down Jess's spine. 

"I have to. I need you."

Derek lifted his arm up and with a quick slash Peter's neck was sliced open. 

Jess felt as though the world was moving in slow motion. She could hear Scott yelling in the back ground as she fell to her knees. This was it. No turning back. She was a werewolf and her one chance at freedom was now dead. She wept for her human life that she could no longer have. She wept for the fact that Derek had just condemned her to a life of running and fighting for her life. She wept for the fact that she now hated Derek Hale. 

She watched through her tears as Derek turned and his eyes glowed red just like Peter's had. 

"I'm the alpha now"
