Author's note: IM SO SORRY. I will do better with writing, I just had writers block for literally like a month. I suck. I will update again this week with a new chapter as a sacrifice to the readers so y'all don't kill me:) Tootles XO

Previous: They walked for about twenty minutes in deep silence as Jess tried to subdue her pain and Derek tried to subdue his eroticism.

As soon as Derek opened the door to the warehouse Jess knew Erica was there. She could feel her scent burning in her nose. It was bothersome and made Jess uneasy. Derek seemed to sense it and nodded over to the train cab. It was a large cab and was as sturdy as a cage for a werewolf could be.

"She's locked up", He stated.

Jess nodded silently and wrapped her arms around herself as if trying to hold herself together. The pain was still overwhelming even though Derek was keeping a good distance away.

Derek walked Jess past the cab and started to an area on the opposite side of the warehouse.

There was a small room, but it was large enough that Derek had made a bedroom out of it. He opened the door and ushered Jess inside. She shook softly as she passed him and never made eye contact until she stood on the other side of the room, with the bed separating them.

"Why are you not affected?" Jess asked softly, looking at Derek and then around the room.

The room was bare. There was nothing except for a bed and some clothes in a pile off to the side of the bed. It felt even more lonely and sad than the Hale house had felt. At least nobody had died here.

"What?" Derek asked shutting the door to the bedroom behind him.

"Isaac...he was affected by me but you're not"

She was still dirty and her hair and clothes were still disheveled from the incident that had happened about an hour before. Her skin itched thinking about Isaac's hands on her.

A low growl ripped through the room and Jess jumped and shut her eyes as another wave of pain washed through her body.

"I am affected. Even more so than a regular werewolf", he looked up at Jess and his eyes flashed red for a split second, "You're my mate. Of course I'm affected".

Jess caught her breath and looked down at the hard concrete ground. Mate. He was her mate even if she didn't want him to be. She wished things were different and that they were both human and they didn't have to worry about werewolves and killing and full moons. That wasn't the life she was living, though. As much as she wanted it to be, it would never change back to the way that it was.

"I'm sorry", Derek spoke cutting into the silence, "I know it will never be enough but I want you to know that I am sorry."

Jess bit her lip and shifted in her spot. She wanted to cry. She could feel her eyes begin to burn but she took a deep breath and forced herself to stay strong.

"Me too", she said.

She wished it were different. She wished he were just a man standing before her apologizing for a fight they had just had but it was so much more than that.

Derek cleared his throat and took a step towards Jess. Jess flinched, making Derek stop mid step.

It was hard to see Jess like this. She seemed so small over in the bedroom corner and he so desperately wanted to take her in his arms and comfort her, but he knew she wouldn't let him even if it meant she wouldn't be in pain anymore.

"You'll have to stay in here until the full moon is gone...and don't open this door for anyone but me", Derek said looking away from her.

He watched curiously as Jess's expression changed.

"You're leaving?" Jess asked quietly, taking a step towards the bed.

Derek nodded and glanced at the door. It sounded almost like she wanted him to stay but he had to check on Erica and make sure Boyd, Isaac and any other werewolf were far away from the warehouse.

"I need to make sure you and Erica don't attract anyone near here",

Jess looked at Derek and felt a surge of jealousy. She had no idea where it came from but it was certainly there.

"Are you affected by her?" Jess asked curiously.

Derek looked intensely at her and shook his head.

"I'm the alpha," he grumbled.

Her legs almost buckled under her as his voice rattled around in her head.

"I'm only affected by you"

Derek licked his lips, searched Jess' body with his eyes and then turned and left her alone in the small bedroom.

As Derek walked away from the room, Jess couldn't help but feel utterly alone and she almost longed for him to come back.

Almost.
