Warning: Language and violence:)
Previous: This was the last place she needed to be.
Jess quietly opened the door of the bedroom once she knew Derek was outside. As soon as the door was open the smell of Erica filled her senses. Blind rage consumed her body.
Jess normally wasn't a woman who got mad or jealous very easily but the werewolf hormones were making her do crazy things.
Apparently it made Erica crazy too.
Jess didn't have to strain to hear Erica's taunts. She had smelled Jess as soon as she peeked her head out of the room and it had put her in a bad mood as well.
"I hope you know that when Derek needs a good f*ck he comes to me," Erica hissed from inside the abandoned train cab.
A voice in Jess's head told her to leave it alone. She knew she should just go and find a way out of the warehouse but it was Erica. Something about her got under Jess's skin and she was unusually possessive of Derek as soon as she had spoken his name.
"Shut up you b*tch,"
Jess strode towards the train cab and pictured ripping Erica's throat out.
Thats what she really wanted to do.
She had never been one to be violent but she was feeling substantially more bloodthirsty the closer she got to Erica.
Jess swung open the train door and bared her teeth at Erica. Erica had not had the comfortable stay that Jess had been given. She was chained to the train interior with restraints on her ankles, wrists, and neck.
"At least he doesn't chain me up like a dog", Jess chuckled, feeling slightly amused by the chains that Erica was in.
Erica chuckled dryly and shook her head, "You're a dumb b*tch. Derek only wanted you so he can complete his pack and become stronger. He doesn't give a damn about you. More hunters have come to town, the battle lines are being drawn and there is something new that killed Isaac's father. Its making Derek nervous. He wants the numbers, wh*re."
Jess listened to Erica's steady heartbeat. Whether what she had said was true or not, Erica believed it wholeheartedly.
It didn't stop Jess from lunging forward and sinking her shape teeth into Erica's flesh.
Jess had no control of her body. A switch had been flipped and she had had enough. It wasn't a fair fight. The chains pulled hard at Erica's neck and wrists as she gasped for air. Jess pulled one of Erica's arms forward and heard a sickening crack. Jess wasn't fazed by the fact that a shard of bone stuck out of Erica's forearm. She clawed at her neck, hoping to strike her jugular and watch the life drain out of her eyes but she was wrapped in strong arms and pulled off of Erica.
"Calm down!" Derek roared.
His loud alpha voice shook the train car and Jess suddenly calmed down and looked at Erica.
She was holding her arm close to her chest and her body was covered in deep lacerations from Jess's clawing but Erica still looked up at her crookedly.
"We were just having a little cat fight", Erica said roughly, giving a wink to Derek.
Another switch had been flipped and Jess lunged towards her again but was caught midair by Derek. She thrashed against Derek's body, trying to get to Erica. She just wanted her gone. For good.
"Enough, Jess!"
For a moment, Jess was back to her old self and refrained from killing the blonde teenager. Jess pushed Derek's arms off of her and turned around storming out of the train car and back into Derek's bedroom. She paced the room shaking her head.
Why would anyone let her into a pack? She was disruptive and infuriating. But what if Erica had been right about what she believed to be true? Was she being fooled by Derek once again? Whatever the answer was, she needed to get away.
She whipped around as Derek stormed into the room. He ran a hand over his face before taking a deep breath and shaking his head at her.
The room was quiet for a few moments as Derek grasped for the right words.
"I need her", he said shrugging his shoulders as if to justify her behavior and overall personality.
Jess visibly cringed. Derek had "needed her" too. Now that he had said that about Erica, the phrase didn't seem to mean much.
"For your pack." Jess said calmly.
She was too mad to do anything that she wanted to do. She wanted to cry, or scream, or do what she did to Erica to him but she couldn't.
Derek didn't move a muscle. He could sense that Jess was at her breaking point. He hadn't meant to push her there but nonetheless he had.
Jess closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Why do you need me Derek?" she asked, "why am I even here?"
He didn't answer. Derek calmly took her hand and led her to the side of the bed. Jess reluctantly allowed it.
"I wasn't always a monster..."
